HobbyKing Premium 3D printing filaments set the new gold standard in 3D filaments. Print with strong, flexible filament to create spare parts, artworks and 3D models. Silk PLA filament is a composite PLA with the main component being PLA and with other components such as polyester. It provides a great looking filament that is shiny or silky and has a semi-translucent look.

HobbyKing Premium PLA has a lower melting point and prints easier than other materials. One of the most important features is that PLA is non-toxic, and even has a sweet smell when printing. PLA has a low shrinkage rate and it is very rigid with minimal flex. This material can print extremely high-resolution models and is perfect for a wide range of uses. Silk PLA is excellent for large prints as it has low shrinkage and has a better toughness and surface gloss than normal PLA.

PLA has a huge range of vibrant colors and opacity for that perfect look whether it is artistic or utilitarian, in short, great material for 3D printing. PLA can be printed without the use of a heat bead and can stick to glass or a PCB plate with a binder such as hairspray or white glue for a curl-free print.

Nice PLA

My Creality printer works good with this PLA. I use Dimafix on the glass bed at 85°celsius, and the print stay put. When the temperature goes down after the printing is done, it lets go from the bed. Color is nice and the quality is good. I have no problems using this PLA.

Once I started using this I had my temps wrong for the first few prints and it was terrible. But after realizing I was printing this pla too cool(195c) it's worked out perfect! (Bed temp at 50c and nozzle 230c is perfect for me)

Bought some at 1/3 price of my previous roll and was not expecting much. I am using it to print laboratory instruments and tools for a BioLab and so far I am very impressed. The finish is good it is sticking less to the bed than my old roll and seems every bit as strong. Would definitely go here for my refills. I bought two different colours.
