Bons vols tous

Plane went together as I expected for a Hobby King kit. Would be much better it manual was as well done as the plane. The one fault I found was that the flap servos were not done properly. Both have to be installed in the same direction so the flaps do not act like ail. I installed a 1300 bat. and the cg worked out fine. Had 2 false start takeoffs but on third try I got it airborne. Did just a short flight to get the to see how it felt and check out the flaps, which I had set for just a short throw. Landed pretty good on a narrow street will add in a little more flap bed fore the next flight.I am being careful as I have not flown much in the past year. I replaced the flying wires with 24 ga bead wire.which I caonnected to the springs and streached the springs a bit so they ring a bit when you hit them. they will not fall off. Over all I am very happy with the Ryan.

This is a great little plane. I received mine yesterday, built it in 30 minutes, swapped connectors and was ready to fly. I love the detail on this plane, although it comes pilotless. The rivets are raised and the tail, wings, and gear are Al stabilized with working springs and cables. All around a great plane.

Now on to the first flight. I first trimmed everything on the ground and plugged a 1500mha battery in place. When I began take off with my rates at full and expo off the plane was VERY pitchy and sensitive. I took the plane to 300-400 feet and trimmed very little. After a little elevator and aileron adjustment I was set. I flipped my expo to 40 and took my rates to 70 and she was set. I flew for about 7 minutes and brought her in. This plane needs most all of you attention but once level will stay there. She landed great and needed no additional attention for the second go around.

All in all I am super happy with this plane and I think it may be my new favorite little flyer...for now at least.

Good airplane for intermediate skilled flyers. A little heavy, but adding the flaps is easy and provides really good low speed characteristics. I leave them down most of the time. Performs well during all basic aerobatics Plenty of power with the stock motor. This is a tough little bird, mine having survived a midair with a much heavier aircraft with only minor damage. Ground handling is good but can be tippy in a crosswind. I removed the heavy nose weight and relocated the esc under the cowl, just behind the firewall, and moved the battery all the way forward for balance. Nice plane!

I have flown my STA and can now give a rundown on it.

The plane flies really well - very stable and forgiving. At the same time, it will do all the standard aerobatics like loops, rolls and hammerheads. The only problems with the plane are......

a) the main undercarriage are rather close together (scale appearance) which makes the plane rather squirrely on take off and a bit hard to land. I will have to refine my techniques a bit.

b) the plance is a little slow. It needs to fly on about 4/4 to max power to stay in the air. I am not sure if this is an underpower or underpropeller situation.

All in all, I am very pleased with my Ryan. It is a cool scale model which looks great in the air and is very nice to fly.

So far, my STA has arrived and I have looked it over but not actually built it. All the components are nicely detailed and appear to be made from a very high quality EPO. All the fittings (such as the wheel boots and the strut-wires) look cool. I intend to build this over the Xmas/New Year break. I will do a further review after I have flown it.

Very beautiful model aircraft and upgraded scaile items but flying really bad and not relaxed, you have to fly it fast and not in the wind, a little wind blowing it out of control
