I got this as a birthday present for my dad and its great! I had to get this one because its so much cooler than the smaller ones. I'd seen other reviews about damage from packaging or shipping but I got EMS express and mine doesn't have so much as a scratch on it. I tried it out with methylated spirits, which I knew doesn't burn extremely hot but I tested it out anyway and it runs beautifully!

Well after 12 months I finally received the replacement piston together with a new cyclinder, which was not needed, just as well, you guessed it it was broken by being so tightly wrapped and bound with tape.

Anyway at least HK replaced the part even thought it took over 12 months. My views have not changed that this engine is a load of crap and poorly made.

I recieved my sterling engine and to my dismay it had a few issues. First, there were multiple (4) places where the black paint on the frame was chipped off. Quite a bit of the chrome plating was already flaking off, and the internal glass heat tube was mounted crooked. I contacted Hobby King the next day, and after a few weeks of runaround and delayed responses I was finally given a credit... of $3. I will never shop with this company again.

Purchased this engine ran it for about 3 minutes and then stopped and would not run again. Saw that the glass piston was cracked and could only have happened during manufacture. Despite HK accepting the warranty claim I have not received a replacement piston despite HK saying they have requested manufacturer in India to supply one. This was 3 months ago

This is a great piece of engeinering, Very high quality finish, and a lot larger than I thought. Runs very smooth. Burner tube required adjustement to get it under the glass tube.
