This is a great motor, I use it for 900 g scratch build trainer. Perfect with 8x6 and 3S 2200 mAh battery and 20A ESC. Max current - about 16.5A.
I recommend it.
Best regardsHi there I have two of these motors 1 is in a scratch built plane and goes great no problem .
But the other 1 just put in a plane (New out of the box) and testing it sounds noisy after 30 sec she smoked up so now I shall take it to bits and find the problem I think it's the bearings . I let you all know GREGI purchased 4 of these motors with matching Turnigy 18A ESC's. All 4 failed in les than an hour of flight time. 2 failed on first flight and the second 2 on the second flight. All 4 were in 3 channel gliders with a max weight of 760 g.
All 4 seemed to have one wire in the winding broken. Perhaps mine were a batch flaw and my order drew the short straw. I have no other explanation as to why they would fail. All is not lost as I will re wind the motors myself.
I like the Turnigy motors and have had great success with other sizes in their range. I will buy more of them (perhaps not this exact size) and just put this down to bad luck.thanks very mach for HK

400g slow stick home made and 10 min flyUsed in an FMS/airfield 800mm corsair. With the stock 3 bladed 10amp at WoT.(straight up verticle) 7x3.5DD gws 8amps at WoT. 12amp gws 8x4 DD. 3s1p 1300 20c flightmax. You'll get even more power if you have 30c or better batteries.(measurements via eagle tree)
This is a fantastic motor for any application where your using about 3s 1300 packs and want to keep the prop size 8x4 and under. If your running 800mm planes Grab a couple. They are durable, the prop adapter mounts on the back of the bell and I can promise you won't have to worry about bending a motor shaft ever again! This motor out classes all motors in this range! Makes a little noise at WoT but its a solid motor!
Get it on backorder, get a couple..its really inexpensive and light. The wait is worth a solid motor. I took it nose in from 40ft up into the ground and it still works like a charm.Awesome motor! I use it with a 7x5, or now a 7x6 for more speed. I run it on 1800mah 3s lipo. It'll do 3d with a 18oz plane. I've also had it on a flying boat that crashed and sunk. Pulled it out of the water, and the motor still works. That happened about 3 years ago! I've used this motor on up to a 30oz airframe. It'll take off, but without much power to spare.
