Update on previous review. Have tested with new HK 55A D-Lux ESC which in factory settings would not kick it off without giving prop a start by hand but once running was ok but motor still gets hot quickly even with small prop. Tried with 100A HK D-Lux ESC using Flitemax 4s 20c and this started it no probs. Using a 9x6 E prop cut down to 8'' I got 5lbs of thrust in pusher mode but motor gets too hot to touch in about 10 secs. It seems like it can take more power as it still flattens out at max rpm on 4s 20c so maybe 30c might be better.

It seems to have a major cooling issue as very little air can get past the rotor so I think it may be good in a pusher mode with direct ducting or in a boat with a copper tube wound on for water cooling. I have a 40'' Prather hull which I may try it in using this method as it certainly has the potential to be a good motor if you can cool it well.

Tried this motor with 4s 20c 3000mah, TGY 85A ESC and with a 10x8 wooden prop and got 20A and 294W. Have tried a 9x6 three blade ic prop as well which was well within the motors specs but it (and the ESC) just get real hot on anything more than a cruise static. I have noticed it gets to full revs then backs off slightly with any prop as if it wants more power. Maybe the ESC is not suitable for this motor or the timing is wrong, (have yet to try different timing- on high timing at present).

Had pleanty of pull with the 9x6 but not sustainable as it needed better cooling. Fan is in the wrong end for planes as it draws air from the back of the motor and expells it from the front. It would be better not to have it at all and run cool air through the motor as the fan disk stops this happening.

I had to replace the bearings in the first hour or so of testing and Loctite the rear outer bearing shell to the case as it was far too loose but it now runs very smoothly and quietly and quite economically at 1/2 throttle. As tested so far - good for a light model where you need an occasional burst of good power and the rest medium throttle, Not a bad motor really but will test other ESCs / timing etc and report further

Bought this for a Phoenix classic EP trainer (flying weight 2KG) together with a Turnigy 60 A ESC, using a 10x7 prop and 4s 4900mAh rhino lipo. Results tested showed 840w drawing 55 amps.then reduced the acceleration setting on my tx and resulted in 43 amps and 660w.Will downsize prop to 10x5 as recomended by a experienced friend. Only tricky part was fitting on motor mount/prop as shaft length a bit short, hence 5 stars a bit generous.

It uses it for AW28. Power goes out well, too and it is unquestionable. I think that the cooling efficiency is also good.
