Nice stabile part. Needs some skills to mount the parts together. Nice design. Only Optical feature is not usable. Great Job done by Hobby King.

This is not the best case for (HKPilot) APM 2.X FC. It is difficult to add external compass and GPS and it require some fiddly work to get the fibre optics to go in. Get the 3DR case or look alike.

Holes for assembly the case are not big enough so you'll need to force a little bit or sand little tabs before insertion.
Glass round bars for light emission transmission is really hard to use.
But very cheap, ok !

The box is excellent and really well thought out. The precision of the parts is amazing. Its actually better than the case for the 3D Robotics version.
One issue was the plywood parts and the top plate, that hold the fiber-optics, the holes are to small. It was a nightmare pushing the fiber though the plywood cutouts in the wood and the plastic top.

Go with the plastic case, I had to source it from another supplier as HK do not provide it on its own and must be purchased as part of the HKPilot (APM clone) kit.

SO BAD its untrue - fit of the components is awful and so bad that it's almost impossible to put together without some very careful filing.

Do not put the panels on the wrong way because its a pain in the ass to pull apart again.
Everything fit for me. You have to wedge the edges in first then tap it all in with a small hammering device (i used a letherman).
Once its assembled it will be ridiculously hard to remove the FC from inside, so make sure everything is connected before you completely enclose it.

Once together this thing is bullet proof. I've (already) crashed my Hex in such a manner that it landed right on the mounting box. NO damage whatsoever!

Really...... dont bother. The Rubiks cube is easier!!
Usual problems are screws too small for nylon spacers which hold the case together, no instructions whatsoever, optic tube for LED's impossible to fit in laser cut plywood.....
Buy an APM case elsewhere!
