Tamiya X-21 Flat Base For Tamiya Gloss Paints (10ml)
Tamiya Flat Base is a paint additive that will transform any Tamiya acrylic glossy paint into a flat non-gloss color. (specifically designed for use with Tamiya bottled acrylic paint) To use simply begin by mixing a gloss color into a mixing jar with flat base additive and stir. Add Tamiya X-20A acrylic thinner if you will be airbrushing the transformed color. A beginning paint to flat base ratio is 10:1 (10 parts paint to 1 part flat base). If a flatter sheen is desirable add a little more flat base.
Tamiya acrylic paints are made from water-soluble acrylic resins and are excellent for either brush painting or air-brushing. These paints can be used on styrene resins, Styrofoam, wood, plus all of the common model plastics. The paint covers well, flows smoothly, and can be blended easily. Prior to curing, paint can be washed away with plain water.

Note: Adding too much flat base will yield a color that looks milky. When airbrushing make sure to use any of the following Tamiya thinners: 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520, 87077.
