a) Forget 3D with this ... despite the large surfaces - she's designed for aerobatics. She will do some but fights you all the time.
b) Be careful how you power her - that motor box and front section of fuselage is OK for designed, but not for more. I use 3542 in her and its too much ... suggest 3536 as max.
c) Main wheels fitting is weak .. I've already had to rebuild mine after grass landing ripped out half the fuselage bottom.
BUT I really like her ... if you fly her as an aerobatic sport model - she's a peach. Not a model for second ... but as third / fourth - fine. She will balance fine with 1800 - 2200 3S pack in there ... and the 3536 / 3542 motor.
Difficult to slow her down though - she's too clean. Certainly different on the field from the usual Sbachs, Extras etc.

OK ... first, this is Hyperion model but without the CF compo's that Hyperion are famous for.
The engine mount is very light and needs strengthening - CA is not enough. It needs epoxy at least to be run filleted around all joints. I have already rebuilt this area twice due to motor pulling itself out ! U/C area is very weak - so add some support and epoxy again.
The servo holes / ply parts are NOT 12 - 16gr size ! I ended up adding small corrector pieces to fit the recc'd servos. After first trial - I changed to split elevator servos to give better precision as the joiner is not enough.
Canopy needs more magnets ... I added another and thinking about another ! With stock magnets - watch it fly away !!
This model will NOT 3D ... it is just not right .. why I cannot say - BUT if you want an excellent Aerobatic's model - then this is it !
I have 3542 1000kv, 50A ESC, 11x7 prop, 3S 2200 Rhino LiPo .... no added weight to correct CoG.
Value for money ? Yes. Fly well ? Yes. 3D ? No. Do I like the model, would I buy again ? YES.

Pretty little plane. Covering is the cheap Chinese variety, which does not stick too well. The wing tube is a sloppy fit in the fuselage, and wings.(10mm fibreglass sticky tape fixed it). The motor mount needs a rethink, I made alloy stand-offs and motor mount plate to suit the Turnigy D35/48/4 1100kv motor used. I used Ino-Lab D250MG mini servos and a KST 145 servo on elevator. Elevator servo uses a carbon pushrod and is mounted behind the wing spar as is the rudder servo with pull/pull cable arrangement. This allows the battery to sit just in front of the wing par for correct C of G. The alloy landing gear is way too short and was replaced with a 30 size carbon fibre version, as was the tail wheel assembly which is way over size for the plane. I also changed the wheels to a traditional wider foam set with a slightly larger diameter. There was quite a bit of extra work required to get this plane right, but it is a little different and fly's well enough.

This is an awesome plane, I had it for couple months, finally finished it and test flew today, touch of right aileron trim and touch of down elevator and flew like on rails, awesome, landing is easy, it glides in reasonably well due to its clean design and slows down nicely for a three point touchdown, even though the grass is long (and a bit wet) this morning, it didn't nose over.
The gear I used is all that I already had, I didn't buy specifically for it.
Servos: Ailerons, Turnigy mini servos s3317, elevator and rudder HiTec HS-81.
Motor Turnigy (EF-1) motor 3542 - 1250KV
Speed controller red brick 50 Amp
Propeller APC "style" 10 x 5
Battery 3s 2200mA 30C
I used slightly larger wheels and no wheel pants, I've closed most of the front opening in the cowl with 1mm plywood, reinforced landing gear plate with some balsa wood and epoxy, placed battery half way in the motor mount frame for a CG of ~ 80mm
My all up weight ready to fly ~ 1200gm (not sure how it is possible to have it @ 900gm - as per specs?)
All in all, very happy with it :)

Fantastic Airframe! Built one this winter and recently maidened her. WOW! With 4xHD1810 digital servos all around and a 1250Kv, 500W motor/AE45 ESC, this baby flies like it's on rails!

The best and smoothest flier I have to date. I also added the HK280-148 Carbon fiber gear to replace the stock mains. MUCH better scale look to her. An amazing product and well worth the $$$. The color scheme is guaranteed to turn heads at the flying field!

Recently in November 2012 got this model. I really like it! I have yet to maiden it, but the build went well. I opted to use HD-1810MG digital servos all around, and a Clevis (Sullivan or similar) and 2-56 threaded rods for linkages - VERY strong that way. Also, HK280-148, the CF gear for 15cc sized Yaks, is a PERFECT fit in the kit's gear section in lieu of the smaller inadequate aluminum ones. Just around 1mm off each of the edges where the gear mates to the fuelage and it's in there!

Setup:

Turnigy (equivalent) 3536-6 1250Kv motor, 500W max.

Prop 3-blade MAS 11x7

2" spinner (HK)

4x HD1810MG digital servos

Turnigy 45A ESC (Awesome for this plane of 3-4S)

I added a faux vane system like the scale Yaks using 1/8" x 1/4" aluminum streamline tubing on 9/64" CF rods mounted on a plate radially (Plate made from 1/32" hard ply, 50mm OD, 42mm ID), and a second plate behind for strength. The vanes are ~25mm long each, and i used a 16 pattern for easier angles. Looks fantastic! Also, I added 2x5mm strips of 3M black vinyl to make the canopy look more scale! I'll post pix in the files section before X Mas.

**a couple of quirks with my kit: CG is to be 85mm behind the leading wing edge, yet with all my mods, my CG requires the battery to be nearly to the wing spar, and the battery location is TOO cluttered with cross members to fit any 3S 2000mAh battery - I am going to
