Thought this would be a good way to try a can type muffler on a gas engine. I'm running it on a DLE20 engine in an Aeroworks ProX260 profile plane. I'm very impressed the can has totally changed the sound of the motor it is a much smoother tone (none of the burble or crackle that the other DLE20 engines at the field seem to have) plane is also quiter than other engine at field and people have commented they thought the motor had cut out when it is flying along at idle as it is so quiet compared to the standard DLE muffler.

I use this with DLE30 and 30cc Aerobatic Plane that canister ready.
This pipe is too big. I had to cut off 1.5inch the manifold .

Its make great power.
18x10 tgy c prop runs 7500rpm
(normal muffler : 7200rpm)

but the response is too bad.
and I can't hang the plane.

bought to fit on my DLE 30 in a Pilot Yak 54. Good Quality and looks just like the picture. Great deal and great performance. Runs on the DLE 30 swinging a 19x10 prop with great power and quiet.

I recently received one of these. The header is made from stainless and the pipe is aluminum. It is bright finished like the picture. The 5 pieces shown weighed 8.8 oz, 249 gm. I have a selection of small gas engines and bolted the header on them to make sure that it fit. It fit my DLE 30, DLE 20, CRRC-26, G-23 and RCG26I, the older version with the spark plug in the top of the cylinder. It did not fit my RCG 15. If the coupler fails, use an Aerotrend Ultra Blue replacement, 3/4" #1035 or 1039.

Tuned pipes are expansion chambers. They are designed to work with the port timing and rpm of the engine. This is a canister muffler and NOT a tuned pipe. It can not do what a tuned pipe does simply because of its shape. Also, a corrugated flex pipe has no place in a tuned setup. It will cause so much air turbulence and restrict flow. This being nothing more than a muffler I don't think it matters. If you want to learn about actual tuned pipes look to the boat guys... they know what they are doing when it comes to these engines. Not like the heli and plane crowd who slap on whatever the next guy says is good then convince themselves it has much more power.
