The Dancing Wings Hobby Cute Girl laser cut balsa kit captures the type of vintage model airplane that was used in the early days of RC with radio assist. It has that classic retro look, lots of wing dihedral, band on wings, a large cabin, classic shapes to the wings and empennage, and tail dragger landing gear, all the features required for a retro classic look.
The controls are just basic 3 channels, rudder, elevator, and motor control, this keeps things nice and simple. We recommend that you power the Cute Girl with a brushless motor set-up. However, a nitro or a diesel engine can be used for that even more authentic vintage look and classic soundtrack.
All the wooden parts are precision laser cut to produce an accurate, lightweight airframe. The Cute Girl laser cut kit is relatively straightforward to build, however, we do recommend that some experience in building a wood model airplane has been gained previously. Most of the components are constructed over the detailed, high-quality printed 1:1 building plan.
Once the airframe is built, we recommend that you cover the model in a lightweight, semi-transparent iron-on covering. This shows off the beautiful structure of the model, and further enhances the classic vintage look of what would have been doped tissue.
So either take a trip down memory lane or experience what flying an RC model was like 50 to 60 years ago. These types of designs have a very low wing loading, are very stable, and are particularly good-natured to fly. Back in the day, they were basically RC assist free-flight type models. These stable, good-natured qualities and simple 3-channel control, make the Cute Girl the perfect choice for pilots with very little RC flying experience.
