Essential spare parts as the front wheels get a hammering and generally end up hitting the walls - these do take a lot of abuse but do break eventually which is where these replacements come in

inside differential gears are not metal onlyy the coupler sokets are metal.
smaller side gear very prone to damage freqently.

Not metal gear as described, just the same as the stock gearbox. Will lasts a lot longer once I sealed it with super glue & fill it with 1000 cst diff oil. Still minor leakage through the bearings but holding up well.

Not metal gears as stated. Only the input and output drives are metal. Other than this very well made and very light weight.

Would be ok - but: NO metal gears. Whats up with you Hobbyking?

People buy this because they think these will last longer than original plastic gears. Gears wear out within some batteries, it is a pity. 118B would be a fantastic cool car, but to have to change differential gears all about 6 - 8 batteries is horrible. Cheap spare differentials are out of stock ... and this set will probably wear out as soon as the gears that came with stock

Well as everyone has now pointed out this does NOT have metal gears in it. Very disappointing but more frustrating that Hobbyking are not updating the description to explain that whilst the outdrives ARE metal the gears are not. for me its probably ok as I don't use 3s and am not a basher. Come on Hobbyking UPDATE the item with the correct description. I have posted this in the reviews and comments of both front and rear gearboxes so Hobbyking will hopefully take note.

gears are NOT made of metal. the heading is FALSE, the gears are NOT METAL!!!!

Front diff for 1/16 rally car.

Outsides are metal but gears are still plastic. They are strong but the outdrives (where the dogbones go in) are metal so wont strip out like the plastic ones. Good buy & to have spare gears
