HK Desert Fox buy one before they are one!

This is an awesome platform, not so much the whole package.
Chassis, driveline tires and lay out of this SCT bases platform are all top notch for the price.
I'd suggest ordering a descent esc/motor combo with it, the stock esc/motor are good for 2s runs to get the truck dialed in (if they last that long). Drop in a 9,5-13,5t motor and a 60A upwards esc and be done with it (except gearing it down some especially on 3s, 17tooth pinion works fine).
The truck handles like a dream after some thicker shock oil and adjusting the droop screws on the a arms, jumps like a champ and tracks true, very nice.
Don't see this truck as a RTR model but upgrade it out of the box it's cheap enough to do so. Bet you won't see dumb warranty complaints like the fellow before me, yes it's over geared and yes it cogs like a pig and overheats what do you expect at this pricepoint, monitor the temps and you can run it stock (don't throw in a 2s 8000mah and drive it through tall grass for 45 minutes, you'll kill it on its maiden run! Duh

Had the electronics been better i'd give it the highest rating, but being informed up front i did my research and swapped them out after 1 test run and couldn't be happier!

You better read the whole situation before making the judgement. The transmitter and receiver was not working once got the car which is the original RMA for twenty something credit. Then the esc and motor catch the fire for under 5mins run after I put a new tx & rx. The fire burn out all the servo, esc, motor, receiver, and the right side of the car, the. You guys even take away the original RMA credit. You better tell me how bad is the products and customer services.

The rma is for the faulty controller and receiver when I first the car, but the car esc and motor was fire burning after few mins first run. This car was totally rubbish. Please read the conversation as per below since I have repeated the issue again and again

Upon checking your RMA, our warrant team confirmed you have a faulty item and they refund via bonus points or stored $20.05 via bonus points for the faulty item, which may use for the next order from us. However, they remove your bonus points, because you have a dispute to your PayPal. I highly advise to close your dispute so they can give your bonus points or create a new replacement order?

The car is OK for the price, but stock motor is cogging a lot. Needs exchange to 4-pole motor if you like to go slow. Customer service from HK is like you get what you pay for.

Bought one of these for my sons birthday. car looks ok and was good fun. Got to put THREE batteries through the car before it stopped.
Seems the motor has fried and taken out the esc with it.
In my opinion the car is way over geared standard even on 2s batteries, I'd spend your money elsewhere....
The radio gear and the rest of the car performed well for the short time it was running.

Received my Desert Fox fast! This thing looks bad a$$.
You can definitely tell its too much buggy for the motor. I used a 2s 4000mah battery and the motor burnt on the first run. HK gave me credit for a new motor so all is well. Overall great buggy for the price, just don't expect the motor to last long. Great platform for upgrades.
