I like the HK trex -500 so much that I got the HK-600GT as well. The only thing I change was rotor head on the 500. Both are great to fly. Outstanding. I would love to order a nother 500 but it's been on back so long. I do not wont to place an order and have it on back order for mounts.

Hello, would like to comment on the fantastic service, communication, quality of goods, and amazingly fast delivery from HobbyKing. Ordered HK500CMT (TT) on the thursday here in NewZealand, and it arrived the following thursday morning, on my door step in NZ, that is quicker than some interisland delivery's her in NZ. Not bad but no instructions came with it. Was going to be my first helo but will have to sit on shelf for a while till I have the time to reverse engineer the thing.

I have yet to build mine but I like not having to pay 5-900 (like the align kits) on my first heli! waiting for hobby king to get the new fiberglass rotor blades back in stock so get this baby up in the air. I just don't see how you can go wrong. Get some spare parts while you're at it oh and when building check the forums. As this heli comes partly already assembled you might want to tear it down and add in some lock tight thread locking compound to be sure its done right! some of the screws on this thing are loose, tear it all down and build it right! Otherwise? what are you waiting for go get one!

6s pack was way too much for my setup up. Motor TY500H-1700KV
10t pinion should produce 2466 head speed. I don't have a
tack but at 60 throttle it was visibly scary fast. 5S pack was
still a little too hot but manageable. Yes I did cal the throttle on
the speed controller. Unfortunatley with the 400g 5s 20c 3000mAh
pack the heli was tail heavy. The 500g 6s pack was about right.
Gonna order a 500g 5S 20c 4000maH Zippy. Gonna be a tight fit
from what I've measured.

Mainly, it was well out of the box, after installing electronics and blades and fly it for a cople of lipo packs, I had to locktite ALL the screws at the fuselage and cyclic, the tail boom tends to loose the belt, so I had to screw it to the fuselage and tail holder in order to keep it tense enough, after doing all these adjustments, I flew it again, but broke the tail holder in two it's not strong enough to avoid tail from moving right-left or maybe I was too sharp to change direction. NOw it is with a metal tail holder, metal boom holder, metal swashplate, metal everywere, except from the main blade holder, which I personally like plastic. Setup is HK 500 Brushless motor, HK 85 Amp BEC, HS81MG cyclic servos, Futaba GY520 gyro with Fut 9254 servo, Zippy flightmax 6s 3000mAh 20c lipo packs. Now, I can do whatever I want with it. Ah, blades are fiber not carbon

Hola. Muy buen helicoptero. Al principio da miedo. Lo que si hay que tener mucho cuidado comparandolo con un 60 glow. Lamentablente tuve la mala suerte de que vino fallado un tornillo de la cola y se solto una palita del rotor. Pero a pesar de quedarse sin cola decendio bien. Muy Bueno. Pero me parece que es para muy experimentados. Gracias. ale

got my hk500 today. everything is all there an no brokin parts. took a lil longer to get here then i wanted. i know not to do the rush shipping but ill be orderin from HK again

This is a great copter for the price. If you have any decorating skills you can use them on this heli as the canopy comes unpainted. The parts look sturdy , but some of the small screws may want to be upgraded. I haven't flown yet as I am a newbe to heli's. I will write an evaluation when this occurs.
