I OWN THIS MODEL. received it less than a month ago (July 2015). If your looking at buying this model it is nothing like what is shown other than that it's a Sbach model. The model shown is the photos is basically a Pilot RC model but is not even close to what you get when you order it. I has a fixed firewall not adjustable. The hardware for your silencer is not part of the kit. there is no manual PERIOD, hardware is quite cheap. Also the wings may say 2210mm or 89" but the fuselage is quite narrow even smaller than my 25pcnt Extra 300. My 89" AJ slick makes this look little. The plywood for the frame is very soft and does NOT feel like aircraft quality plywood. Hope this helps anyone looking at this model. One more thing, the video is worthless unless you go and buy a Pilot RC Plane it won't help a bit for the plane they send out.

You have done it again hobbyking. I have seemed to have had a great run with you over the past 3 years! I have just got back from yet another awesome day flying with this model.....i have put it through its paces and still after 2 years it is going strong. No complaints what so ever over this time. Thankyou!!! Ill post videos in the files page

Modell ist nach dem was geschrieben wurde sehr viel besser als erwartet. Nix defekt, alles dabei, Stiftscharniere, Kugekpopfanlenkung Servohebel Verlngerung top, absolut super zu diesem Preis unschlagbar! HR Servos im Hhenruder verbaut, geile Kiste.

Very decent piece of kit! The plane looks great, and the build quality was actually better than what I expected it to be, but the harware package is another story.. Quite a bit of parts missing, and the nylon wing bolts had different threads than the blind nuts in the wings, so I had to use some M6 stainless steel bolts for the maiden. No big deal, but a little frustrating.. I installed an RCG50 engine in it, with a 22x8 carbon prop, and it was an absolute blast to fly! It looks so incredably good in the air, and I can't wait to get more flights on it! I really reccomend this airplane if you are looking for a cheap, quality 50cc acrobat! (NOT for beginners/inexperienced modellers, though)

Build quality is decent. Hardware is low quality. Almost all nyloc-nuts are missing nylon insert so those are crap. Landing gear is aluminum and really heavy. Tail wheel bracket and fixings are way undermatched so replace that one with aftermarket part. Instructions are somewhere between lousy and crap. Download pilot-rc manual for clarification. Landing gear supports (aluminum L-Bars) from fuselage were totally missing, same with cowling lower mounts. Wing tubes fits, so no problem there. Anti-rotation pins form stabs and wing are poorly glued. Do those again.

Delivery was funny. It came with totally different transport company with no tracking at all. The tracking code I got was never even active. Canopy has two cracks and cowling is poorly painted.

If you have some experience with building these kind of models, go ahead. If you don't, buy a pilot-rc.

Nice build. The covering is well applied. The wing tube fits in the fuselage, maybee this problem has been fixed (or i'm lucky). The harware is medium quality. I thing i'll change the control rods and hinges. Landing gear seems "soft" but i have the carbon one from my former sbach (kissed a tree) 2 crows is for the canopy. It arrived with 2 cracks on his left side. There is dust everywhere under the black paint and the varnish has been very badly applied. The canopy is not clear at all and his whole surface is like orange skin. Beurk. Is there a control before delivery????
So overall, the kit is ok except for the canopy who should not have been sent. I'll have to spend tme trying to fix it.

This is NOT the perfect kit like you would imagine... I had an original pilot-RC 50cc Sbach before this one and this hobbyking version seems like it's the old-version pilot-rc kits. There will be many bad & missing parts like. For example, they give you 4 X 80mm pushrods that is unusable because you need 2x 45mm and 2x 160mm. Missing many m3 screws and nuts etc'... Hobbyking didn't respond to my request for the missing/replacement parts.

Also, you'll need to work really hard to make this kit fly. For example, both wing and elevator aluminum tube did not fit the holes. I literally spent 10 hours scrubbing the holes to fit the tube. It was very frustrating.

Shipping was about $130 to Los Angeles... What a ripoff.

I advice is get the real thing directly from the manufacture. Not through HK.

Just put three flights on my new Sbach and apart from a few niggling small problems, (wing tube needed sanding down to fit etc.) this is a very nice flying machine.
Hardly any trim alterations needed, I am delighted with it, for the money it's an awful lot of aeroplane and very well constructed.

My 50cc Sbach arrived from UK warehouse within 3 working days of placing the order. Quality perfect as far as I can see so far, but I have just got to say WOW!!! I have 50cc and bigger models, but this is so much bigger and better than I expected. I am soooo glad I checked for stock every day for over a month to get this one! Will report back when I build it...
