I'm really disappointed with this battery. When I got it, it was either defective, or totally discharged, because removing the jumper did not turn it on, and when I put it on a volt meter, it wouldn't register. When I tried to charge it, the red light came on, but it stayed on and stayed on ... after an hour I wondered wth was up, so I removed the battery it was charging from, tried to turn it on, no go, no happy blue light like the guy in video demonstrates. Put it on the volt meter, nothing. Put the battery it was supposed to have been charging from, and the capacity had barely moved, I mean, like 10 Mah? Probably what it took to light the LED for an hour. I have to make a video showing this and send it to HK so I can get a refund on it. Smart Lipo? More like Dumb ass Lipo!

problems for the hk 1.5m dlg -its not a round battery so it wont go deeply into the nose -its not heavy inough to conterbalance the nose ballast and it does not work while i plug it into the reciever>unplug jumper (may be a bad product i have) it does work while i unplug jumper first.

Very bad product. Was not able to charge the battery, because it was completely discharged (0V). Waste of money.

Works great for a DLG. I have a 6 channel Blaster 3 DLG and the size and light weight of this 1 cell 5 v battery works as specifiedplus I like the fact I can charge from any battery. Did not have any problems driving the servos.

Bought two of these to power a DLG, it's perfect for the bigger sized models and being able to charge them from another Lipo is handy for those longer all day sessions, of for when you're far away from a power source.
The downside is, of the two I bought, one of them is faulty, the smart board works fine (I slaved the cell from the other one onto it and it ran the servos etc, perfectly, but, the lipo itself, wouldn't power the other one.
So not so impressed by that. However I also bought a couple of the 250mah ones and they both work perfectly.

Neat idea for a product but.. My first unit arrived with a totally discharged battery so it was of no use. HobbyKing fixed the problem and a second unit arrived. It worked as advertised but.. I intend to use this in a discus glider so it is only driving a HK 6 channel orange receiver and 4 Turnigy 9 gram analog servos. It can't do it. I hear the servos activate for about 0.25 seconds then nothing. With a regular BEC everything is fine. I am going to try a Turnigy 750 mAH 1 S battery with the voltage booster but have already ordered a 2 S battery for a BEC that I have, but that makes it bulkier and adds more weight. I wish this had the gusto to drive a fairly benign setup. Think about this before you order.
