Got mine not a while ago. What a disappointment. the design of this product is horrible. any of you who bought it knows the plastic hinge (see image section)breaks easily , even on soft landings. few reviews up claims that now it's made of metal , but that's not true , it's still very cheap breakable piece of plastic. This p-51 plane is quite good. too bad these retracts ruins the flight experience. Hobby King , you gotta do something about this product!

don't buy this unless you have to!

I recieved my parcel today, but there was only one retract in the box. This is the second time I have ordered it. Last time I recieved a pair like the picture shows. Not great quality, the plastic parts inside will break pretty fast. I hope hobbyking will send my the last retract.

Bought the p-51 auto canopy Mustang 3 weeks ago.This retract system handels nicely with good landings , but not so good with slightly (!) rough landings. The hinge in the retract system broke. (See attached image in the "Files"Tab)
It's almost impossible to repair it and keep the original strength.... Now I have to buy the entire system for 40$ just for this cheap plastic part that will most likely break again there's gotta a better solution for this... HK , please notice this issue... if it's possible to buy this hinge alone it will be great!

Breaks immediately. The plastic is too weak, my will is broken after two landings. I recommend you do the piece that breaks into aluminum.

This truck is a scam, the piece of plastic that supports the landing gear broke on the first landing, I contacted the company that makes the P-51d now this piece of plastic they do it in metal. But still sell the entire landing gear all in plastic, aware that it will break at the first landing. The company wants $ 40 (parts shipping) for the 2 pieces of metal parts. I attach the photo in the files section.

These are on the 1.2m P-51 I just bought from HK about 3 weeks ago. The gear look nice and beefy with thick machined aluminum struts, but the hing point and flanges that lock the gear down are made of plastic. The flanges snapped off on my 6th landing and lost the pieces in the grass. Now I have to decide if I want to spend $36 for replacements with the same flawed design.
