Review and fix for retract

Nice looking retract mounted on quanum venture with some mods to mounting brackets.
But one retract would play up not going up all the time til it burnt out the PCB. Found one of the switches on PCB jammed in on that leg.
Found this replacement PCB on hobbyking site, Turnigy Metal Retract - Replacement PCB Small A $4.00. cheap fix.
Which fixed my retract.
Also found when leg was down had no play so filed to give a bit of play like other side.
Which could have been the problem to start with.

Nice item, working well (so far).
The major problem is that the T connectors are not holding the tube correctly (those that are parallel to the ground) and I need to find a way to have it stay in place or my Nova will fall on its side.
A minor issue is the noise. Why the motors have to be so noisy?

It does what it says it does - those looking to use this on a different quad frame will probably not have too much trouble - it secures with screws and is more than enough structure to hold up the nova with full action cam payload. I purchased this setup to get the action camera a bit further off the ground. It would be nice to have carbon legs to save a little weight - but the price is stellar. Like the other reviewers, the motors on these is loud but functional. It is worth the price for sure, just make sure you do ALL your setup with the quad upside down - do not stress out these motors as it doesn't appear there is a safety device built in.

A little loud for my liking when activated, but are made from aluminum, and with metal clips, it looks good and gets a great effect when I take off or land. Throws other people off when they move haha.

These are nice. Very easy to put together. These retracts should have been the landing gears that came in the original box. I got mine one sale. If I had known they were this nice, I would have bought two. I am using a Chinese Gimbal ($40) and I have 4 inches of clearance, under it. I had to attach the Gimbal mount to the Nova mount. When you are putting the legs together take the screws out of the lower leg (one at a time) and use a little thread lock. There is a brace that attaches across the bottom on the front part of the mount. I did not use that. Nice for $35. Great value if you can get on sale.

great retracts at a bargain price we all know the cx20 is a decent quad but the sock landing gear sucks so i had been looking all over for retracts i had seen some machines 1s but they looked very heavy so i choose these they work very well and are very light my quadcopter looks cool and every comments about them thanks hobby king really great product i highly recommend them to all

By far the worst product you could buy, one leg went down once then died, the other leg was dead on arrival. Shipping back to HK costs same as the product. Now you are warned.
