The RADIOMASTER TX16S OpenTx radio has been created to be the best radio in its class without compromising anything. It will allow you to fly a countless number of RC products using just one transmitter, is expandible, and upgradeable, which makes it future-proof. Being multi-protocol means you are not locked into one system such as FrSky, Futaba, or RadioLink, etc. The built-in 4-in-1 internal multi-protocol RF system allows the transmitter to operate on the following protocols listed below:
Cypress Semiconductor CYRF6936: DSM/DSMX, Walkera Devo
Texas Instruments CC2500: FrSky D16/D8, Futaba SFHSS, Corona, HiTec, Radiolink, Graupner HoTT
Amiccom A7105: FlySky, FlySky AFHDS2A, Hubsan
Nordic Semiconductor NRF24L01: HiSky, Syma, ASSAN, and most other Chinese models
All the above RF chips are integrated into one board and can be updated quite easily through the transmitters operating system. For other protocols, there is an improved module slot, allowing JR style external modules to be used such as TBS Crossfire, and other long-range modules. The ergonomic design has a balanced feel, and the anti-slip rubber grips provide comfort and a secure feel, especially during long flights.
The Radiomaster TX16S is fully supported by the OpenTX firmware development team and its companion PC software, this will allow you if you wish to program your model and Tx settings directly from your PC. At the top of the transmitter is the USB-C data port for programming and easy firmware updates. A simulator port is also provided for connecting the Tx to your PC to enable you to fly your favorite RC flight simulator.
The TX16S has full-size, super smooth high precision hall sensor gimbals with CNC aluminum facia's, these offer the ultimate in an accurate, precise feel to your controls. Supplied are various switches, rotary knobs and sliders, and a momentary switch which gives you lots of options when it comes to programming your models. There is an industrial-grade IPS 4.3" (480x272) 3 color LED daylight readable touch display screen for status and programming. The actual programming of the transmitter is a very simple affair using a combination of the touch screen, system/page buttons, and the menu scrolling wheel. Also included is a built-in USB-C charging system for 2 x 18650 cells, external UART ports to expand the capabilities of the Tx, an external SD card slot, built-in voice support, folding carry handle, and much much more.
Overall this is an easy-to-use, multi-protocol transmitter that removes the need for you to have lots of different types of transmitters at your disposal. The one internal module will work with today's most prominent RF protocols, and if used with additional external modules, it will operate even more different protocols that are in use today.
