as Dominick The ad picture for this motor shows the prop shaft coming out of the front of the motor opposite the end where the X mount attaches. The motor I received had the shaft sticking out of the back of the motor where the X mount attaches. This made it unusable for me.

The ad picture for this motor shows the prop shaft coming out of the front of the motor opposite the end where the X mount attaches. The motor I received had the shaft sticking out of the back of the motor where the X mount attaches. This made it unusable for me. I almost sent it back. I removed the prop shaft , ground a new flat for the retaining grub screw & put the shaft back in so as to be sticking out of the front of the motor. I should not have had to do this.
I used a 3 cell 20C lipo with a 40A ESC & a 9/5 orange GWS style prop. . Ran static mounted to my bench for a good amount of time. ESC was barely warm to the touch. Motor runs strung. The extra weight of the "can" definitely helps provide strong torque.
If the prop shaft had been in the front position as pictured in the ad I would have given 5 stars.

This motor is great

I used a 30a turnigy plush ESC and it works fine. There's no need to buy expensive ESCs.

27.5A , 291 watts at 10.46 volts with an apc 8X7, thrust > 710g

28.17A , 293 watts at 10.38 volts with an apc 9X5, thrust > 1050g

Using this motor with red brick 50A opto on 9/5... launches my 1.9Kg FPV wing no problems, comes down warm.... excellent beefy little motor.

I use this motor in my 1.6m flying wing, works really well with TP propellers 9x6 and 50A ESC. Vertical flight is not a problem :)
