This nicely made Sukhoi is a traditional sport scale model that is ideal for pattern style aerobatics. The quality of construction is excellent, as is the covering and paint finish on the cowl and spats. Wings are plug in type and construction is fast due to the low parts count and excellent parts fit. Being light in weight, not only does it fly well but this superb looking little Sukhoi will be cheap to build and offers the kind of looks and durability only a balsa model can offer.

Comprei um destes e apesar da construo ser de boa qualidade , no tem um bom padro de vo .
Parece um pouco pesado e com excesso de carga alar .
Gosto muito de Sukhoi , mas este definitivamente no honra o nome que carrega .

Well it arrived well packaged and completely undamaged. I was surprised at how well made the plane is for the money. It went togethor really well and was ready for flying in a few hours. You need to be careful when setting up the cg because it only takes a small change to drastically alter this position, and following the advice from another review and ran dual rates on all controls. The model flies really well, it is a sport model and not a precision aerobatic plane but still good fun, highly recommended.

Very well maded, but in the manual the names of rudder and elevator link are inverted, what cost me a useless hole in rud.doesnt came with the downthrust already, definately isnt for beginners, and the manual doesnt says but you have to glue the wing, mine release in the air, causing a crash.

Great little plane, fun to fly & keeps you on your toes! Kit is similar to the Hyperion SU-31 10e, so unfortunately shares it's problems too: weak landing gear mount & wing spar. Kit quality is high and the covering is tough.

Replace the light ply landing gear mount with 3mm birch ply epoxied into place. You'll likely have to do this after your first landing when the landing gear collapses! Also be sure to use longer mounting screws than the ones provided. You may also want to use bigger bolts for the axles, the included ones bend very easily.

The wing spar is very weak, mine snapped during a normal flight and I was lucky to get the plane on the ground in one piece. Replace the wood/fiberglass spar with solid carbon rod. I used 3x12mm sanded down to 3x10mm cut to 145mm long. Replacing the spar also got rid of a strong left roll the plane initially had which took a LOT of right elevator trim to get rid off. I also used some epoxy to strengthen the fuselage where the wings mount.

I am using a TowerPro TP-A2409-18, which I had lying around, with a 9x4.5 prop, 25A Turnigy Plush ESC, 1300mAh 3S battery pack & 4 HXT900 servos. Plane has plenty of power with this configuration. The motor is a little heavy, so the Turnigy D2830-11 may be a better match if you want to use a bigger battery.

This is a fun plane to fly for the more experienced! The wings and control surfaces are more

Plane came in and looked great, as soon as I started to unwrap it all I noticed the wing had been assembled with a bad piece of wood and the covering looked bad. I think I can work it out! The plane looks great on the bench and cant wait to fly it. I have the D2836/11 motor, 9x6 prop, 3s 1300 batt, HXT-900 servos, and the Turnigy 9ch Spektrum Orange rc reciever. If it flies well it will be my favorite model. Thanks Hobby King!!!

It is a state-of-art model, very well finished, but it is not for a beginer.

Same Sukhoi 31 10e from Hyperion!

Advice: Be carefull with tip stall and try to keep it as light as possible.

I recommend to add a washout on wings: twisting the wingtips down around 2 degrees and using a hot covering iron to keep it twisted.

Advice 2: Set elavator dual rate to 5 degrees to land, otherwise it would be impossible to land without wingtip strike.

My Su-31 setup:

Motor: Suppo 2208 with 30amp esc

Battery: Turnigy 3s 1000mah

Servos: 4x5gram

Receiver: custom futaba 2.4ghz

Propeller: GWS 9070 3 bladed cut to 8 inch

Weight (without wheel pants): 540gram

Flight time: around 9 minutes

Arrived in perfect condition. And the plane is perfect as well.Ive had some right ARTF dogs in the past but this is as good as my Sebart. Fuz is all sheeted( no stringers),strait and true. The covering is as good as it could be.All lines on the flying surfaces meet up. The cowl is a mini work of art and again all the lines(pinstrips) meet up.Undercarriage and spats are faultless.Even the covering on the tailplane and fin has been removed for you, where it goes into the fuz(no cutting/scoring the film and going to deep and weakening the wood). It is the first ARTF that has glue on all the joints that can be seen not like all the other ARTF with glue applied as vapour! Only draw back I have found is the undercarriage plate cant be beef up as there is no access but at least they have used triangle fillets on it.Took me about 2 hours to put together with the instructions that can be read-No chinglish!-has a full parts list.I couldnt make it any better and Ive been making planes 40yrs. Highly recommended.

Beautifully finished model, arrived safely with no damage. The build was easy and everything fitted together well. It's worth noting that the hardware kit does not include any linkage stoppers. If you don't mind guessing were to put the z-bend in each push rod then you're fine, but to make it easier to adjust the control surfaces I would recommend ordering some linkage stoppers when purchasing the aircraft. I've fitted mine with the Turnigy D2830-11 1000kv motor and a 9x6 master airscrew prop which provides perfectly adequate power.

Maiden flight today went well. As already mentioned by "unleaded", the recommended CG of 60mm from the leading edge is pretty "aggressive". I've settled on 50mm which produces nice axial rolls. I've retained the recommended control throws, but built in 50pcnt expo for the higher throws. Handles all the basic aerobatics well, haven't got too daring with it yet. With a bit of rudder it snaps quickly. Best landed with a touch of power or you'll risk dropping a wing (as I did - low enough altitude that it produced no damage).

Overall, a fun and beautiful model. You couldn't build it for this price. Go for it!

well the model finishe at 530 grams without battery,i decided to use a 1350 3s as cg was was spot on with battery directly above cg point i set control surfaces as per spec and dialed in 50pcnt/30pcnt rate/expo

take off from our rough grass field vas very short which supprised me as i thought i may have to hand launch it ,

with the as spec control surface setting the model was allmost uncontrolable and even at half rate it was a real handfull for me with my limited amount of experiance , this resulted in a low level low speed crash which broke the undercaraige off broke the prop and pulled one of the cowl screw out (all easly repaired)

next flight i am going to reduce the setting from (elev) 12mm> 5mm

(ailo) 8mm>4mm and set rates /expo at 50pcnt/60pcnt i have left the rudder setting as per spec

i suggest that you line the cowl with duck tape as it is very thin also epoxy a thicker undercarrage mount plat over the originag as the screws pulled out very easyly from the liteply

i also may move the CG foward a little to hep with stability till i get used to it , i will add to this review after repair and next flight ???

i have just received my model and what fantastic QUALITY!!!! for such a cheap aircraft, I have just about finished assembly and the only problem i have encounted is pushing the rear small carbon fiber location pin at the rear of the wing through the hole in the innner fuse but as i am going to glue my wing in (you can have them removable) but as the rubber band over a hock in each wing is a bit flimsy and as the wingspan is only 941mm transport will be easy

i have done the usuall ca all the joints etc there is a heap of room in the fuse for big battery space 35x40x180 long so i can fit my 2200 3s in with ease, all the wing, elev, rudder surfaces lined up perfectly

so far it has taken me (slow) about 4 hours and with only servos, radio and cowl to be fitted it will maiden this coming weekend so i will post flight review then luv it
