Rear tyre detached from rim..

I've been enjoying my SR5 this past year but the rear tyre is not gripping the hub any more.. do you all adhere the tyre to the rim or has my tyre gone a bit flabby over time..? I've read that rc car boys glue their tyres on with dedicated glue or just plain superglue. Any thoughts..?

SR5 - any good?

...... well, yes! - Nicely engineered, attractive, rugged, bigger and heavier than one might imagine.
Performance? - Insane! - On 3S you will be overtaking the fastest mountain bike, most full sized elec bikes and probably some smaller motorbikes!
It can blend traction, wheely and ground tearing wheel spin when all ready doing 20 mph.
Ok, few criticisms (which are far outweighed by + points):
Rider should be made of more impact friendly neoprene / rubber type material as boots wear in turns and head breaks during unavoidable somersaults
Gyro effect is a mixed bag - bike still easily collapses uncontrollably in turns which would appear quick enough - doesnt pick bike up when leaning in slow tight turns which is where the wheel elec gyro should shine
In a semi restricted 'play'area, the above becomes tedious as you cannot readily turn in widths less than say 15 metres without it falling or bouncing off its crash bars. - With practice, treating a banked turn in the same way as an aircraft bank, ie pulsing in some anti-bank once established in a curve, helps prevent a 'spiral dive' effect.
I have bought the new GT5 pistol grip radio which incorporates a gyro outputting to throttle and bank....which I shall experiment with - cant help thinking that a lightning quick inputs of throttle and steering the correct way to throw the bike back up whilst the operator oversees the overall curve....might just make all the difference :)
Chassis a little too low in front of rear wheel - hits rough ground and can create cartwheels.
Front springs far too stiff for general off road and too short a travel considering length of forks - needs progressive springs ranging from 70% softer to c 20% softer - ideally with a little damping - Rear seems pretty good once you shim the spring with some rubber O ring spacers to set pre-load
Steering servo saver springs are far too soft, allowing wayward steering control - suggest heavy duty digital metal geared servo, damper and stiffer springs
Optional road tyres would be good
Preferences:
Alternate Radio Ready Kit: No radio and no base level battery - Fit your own GT5 + 3S 5000mah lipo for outrageous performance - Better still, Fly Sky buy in the above and incl them in a Pro Kit, whilst absorbing some of the cost from their increased margins
Supply some gyro / GT5 profiles to get you going, to incl tunable ABS and traction control (limiting wheely and stoppy angle to say c 35%)
Additional electro-mech wheely limiter
Adjustable auto parking stand / training stabiliser rig that deploys at low speed - helps self righting in a turn and holds upright when coming to a stop
Led lights
Front brake for realistic stoppies
More realistic wheels
Ok, will stop there! - As you can see, this is no toy, it is 'hobby grade' enough to let your enthusiasm run away with you and continue on a path of optimisation - I even have animatronics in hand to automate the rider :)
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT? - That Hobbyking doesnt share our enthusiasm and fails to re-order even when you 'beg' them too....

Problem with binding radio.

Purchased the bike in the UK warehouse, quick delivery in 3 days. Bike looks nice, big and heavy. The problem I have is that the transmitter and receiver will not bind. I tried to rebind but this won't work. Very disappointing, I did not expect this for the money you pay for this model. I ordered a surface radio set to see if this will solve the problem because sending the bike back to HK will cost me more. I will update the result as soon as I receive the radio.

The bike comes almost ready to run, just the 6s NmH battery to charge and fit (inc), then the optional side bars. It gives about 10 mins of scale performance on the supplied battery, turning easily at speed on the default fastest giro setting. No trim changes were required and it readily wheelies when throttled sharply.
On fitting a turnagy 2.2 3s battery, I still got 10 mins with careful throttle control. The extra non-scale power can easily over wheelie the model, over bending the rear wire guard and stressing the body kit. My rider came adrift at the waist on the first run and despite trying different adhesives, he now has to wear permanent string braces to keep him together.
I have softened the front fork springs which keeps the front down better and allows the front forks the work more scale like. I've had an rc road bike before and this larger off road one is a great addition to my fleet. I recommend this model but be prepared to spend a little maintenance time on it.

Runs well. sidebars and other protrusions soon break just running on grass.

I'm not a bike nor car expert. First BEFORE running motor, check the chain tension. Expect to have to relax it by moving rear axle closer to motor. Chain should have some slack in it. If too tight, this will require a lot of power to rotate the drive wheel, AND the bike will only go SLOWLY. 8{
Wait for the gyro to spin up [ wurring sound will increase ]. Give it a fast push to commence driving and apply throttle. Fitting the battery and it leads is tricky, to avoid them rubbing on front wheel and ground. I used a hardcase with removable plugin leads. They insert thru the frame once the lipo is in the bike. Good fun, must counter steer to turn and stand bike up from fallen. I've put good value as I bought it on a special release price in Australia.
