    No protection circuitry what so ever

    After using this power supply quite happily for the last 6 months i have found it to be a good PSU, worked absolutely fine untill it did not.
    Pop of smoke, a truckload of a bad smell and a lot of ventilation later. I dont know what happened but it doesnt give me a lot of confidence anymore.
    Currently waiting on my RMA request.

    Ordered this unit to match a Turnigy 250w reaktor charger, which is a perfect match. The first unit that arrived was defective and didn't even turn on. Filed an RMA, a new unit was shipped, arrived the next day and worked fine. Fan is quiet enough to enable charging at my desk and a whole lot better than my old modified ATX power supply.
    Out of curiosity I opened the defective unit, turns out one of the wires leading into one of the transformer coils had snapped. No idea how that passed quality control. Soldering work isn't the best either, but in general, price quality wise you cannot beat this unit, if you get a good one. ;o)

    I have this powersupply now about 6 weeks and it seems to work flawlessly. Good quality (it seems) , fast delivery and good value for money.
