Works well for me, too. Have taken it out to 4.5km while maintaining good video. 12V operation an added bonus over the 5v types requiring an SBEC. I just add a tantalum capacitor near the VTx, loop the supply wires thru a ferrite ring, and plug it into the main battery's balance plug. Nice and simple :)

Have taken this VTx out to 4km with diy dipole Tx ant and a patch Rx ant. Could probably go beyond 10km with a Yagi Rx. Please restock.

Perfect transmitter for the money. I use it in my FPV Bixler 1 & 2. With clover leaf TX antenna and Helix ground antenna I got to 8 kilometers in distance with still good view (didn't want to try further). I use it in combination with Lawmate RX-1260 on 3rd channel. Just pay attention for the wires - they are VERY thin. Also it's good to add heatsink because it heats a lot, and place it outside of the plane with good air flowrate. I also recommend to buy AV / power cables for FPV listed here. Unfortunately, none of the parts is in stock. Otherwise I'll order next combo for backup / my FPV buddies. Check my youtube channel youtube.com/fssoldier for my FPV videos.

seriously, dont buy it, i bought two of them and the two burnt after few hours of using, running on 12v, even when they worked, before they burned, they only worked well when they wanted. Thats a bad product, even if the price is attractive, don t waste your money into it, you had better to buy a lawmate 500mw which will last several years instead of this s**t. With a patch antenna i was only able to go about 200m before losing the signal. Whats more they went very hot in a very small lapse of time so you must add a cooler on it.

I tested it at home and all worked according to description. It came on CH1 and switched it to CH4 (1200). Took it to the field and I had no video. I changed nothing. Upon troubleshooting I realized the thing was now transmitting at 1280. Made absolutely no sense. I called one of my friends to point it out. This transmitter isn't supposed to transmit 1280 in any channel. But there it was. Clear picture on a different frequency. Came back home. Tested it again. Now it's back to 1200 where it was. No joke.

Great little unit, only 2 crowns for overall rating as it is nowhere near 700mW output. I put 3 different ones of these units on a power meter, all 3 were near identical. Best frequencies were 1160mhz at 510mW and 1200mhz - 490mW. Little disappointed that it is no where near the stated 700mW but for $15 they are well worth the money, HK needs to change the description. Even after leaving one on for 2 hours without antenna its still works flawlessly and has lost no range. You do really need to put a heat sink (19mmx19mm heat sink fits perfect) on the back side between the switches and the antenna as the unit get very hot, hotter it gets the short the range you get out of it.
