Two receivers with pip

Apr 11, 2020

Love this unit for friends and family viewing of various pilots as you have two receivers each separately tune able with scanning of all bands. Look for the next pilot quickly in pip then switch to full screen. With the included light shield and tripod mount we can put on a picnic table or just on the grass. Just use a cigarette lighter or 3s battery for power. No need for recording on this unit we do that in the air or pit not in spectator area. So that was not a drawback for our needs. Fits nice in harbor freight case for transport.

A typical design without enduser in mind

Nov 22, 2019

This Monitor has a few adjustments you can select using the five push buttons in the front. Well i guess it is clear that each push button has therefore several functions depending where you are within the different menu's. The problem with this is that you never quite know what each button does, it makes the whole monitor NOT user friendly. The solution would be to consult the included manual but here again you are SOL. The person who wrote the Manual had no English knowledge. All Chinese manufacturer should know by now that we hate those miserable manuals, i still wonder why they keep doing it.
The missing on off switch is again not helpful makes it user unfriendly again. Other folks listed different shortcomings which i do not mind since i had planed to use it in the most simplest way. Luckily i waited for this Cyber Sale and paid only $63 for this monitor, so I'm not to angry with my self buying such monitor with that many shortcomings.

Very basic beginner monitor

Dec 05, 2018

Pros -
Picture in Picture mode can be better than diversity because you get to see both signals simultaneously, and the screen is big enough for the images to be usable.
Big screen.
Cons -
Zero upgrade-ability. I find it amazing how the people who designed this didn't make it with AV inputs, so if you want to add your own receiver you're out of luck. You're stuck with the built-in receivers and frequency until you get a different monitor.
Sure you can get an HDMI converter but good luck getting one that provides at least mediocre quality, if it even exists.
I purchased mine on sale for around $160 but since I can't hook up my Clearview 5.8 or my 1.2 ghz receiver, I'm back to shopping for a decent sized monitor. Might even end up throwing this one out or giving it away actually. This is what I get for not reading the fine-print: HDMI - RF1 and RF2 only.
You live and learn.
