I have 2 of this units and i have got them to run REALLY well!

They need some balancing and the outer casing is a little bit fragile but when installed i a foam plane this is not a problem. The rotor is reinforced.

With a turnigy 2810 4300KV on 4s i got about 550W. That combo is right now getting a skyangel F86 to supersonic speed :D

Of 'acceptable' mfg quality, not high quality by any yardstick though.
Oddest parts are the impellers, these have teeny blades which seem to be bent outwards. Looks like a manufacturing error but both impellers are similar. Likely I need to retrofit a 'better' impeller gleaned from another HK EDF unit to turn this into a worthwhile EDF.
But for a $4 purchase price! this one is a decent value, even if only as parts..

Could be value for money BUT:

Nose cone disintegated during test run. The problem stems from the attachment screw being able to exert pressure on the centre - there is a gap between the fan spindle and the nose cone - should have the centre of the nose cone mating with the top of the spindle so the screw can't be overtensioned and overstress the nose cone.

This is a design and manufacturing flaw and MUST be fixed.

This is the windrider unit - used for the windrider bd-5j.
Fans are not balanced and produces a bad noise ...
May be the better choice for alpha jets because the alpha mk(II)
are very filigree - but who flys alpha jets nowdays??
For the bd-5j its better to change the mounting of the fan and
use a 64mm unit ...

Nose cone blew up! Fan blades are great!! running 28mm motors out of a mig29 that was 55mm added several grams of thrust. With the nose cone gone it does have less thrust. Very durable for the price other than the nose cones. Will buy more, but this time I will epoxy the nose cones on.
