well,, I have had mine now for about 5 days.. I have taken it to 3 different places that are miles apart.. I was had hoped to use this for my homemade rc boat but it wont get 100 feet down the creek until it starts to glitch and twitch..im considering on sending back to hobbyking.. it is totally unusable.. if you buy it you were warned!!!

just got mine in two days ago.. put this on my homemade pontoon boat and couldn't get 100 feet away.. I was extremely disappointed!!!! I am going to try again in a different location in a couple days.. IF I get better performance out of it I will let everybody know..
but i have used my 250 mil 5.8 mgz at the same place with no problems for about a mile.
right now mine is on craigslist after owning it for 2 days.. at this point i wish i had never bought it.. and it claims long range...lol

I just received this kit today and did some testing. Without commenting on range, this kit has a decent camera with great low light performance. The only downside I see is the RF transmitter is quite heavy. Having a look inside the transmitter it actually is a small module but the manufacturer adds aluminum shims and the external case to deal with heat dissipation. Perhaps this can be modified to be lighter. All in all, not bad for the price.

I have bought 2 of these,1 a year ago and the second a few weeks ago.The one from a year ago Tx and Rx are great the camera is so-so.I have flown over 4 KM and I'm sure I could go farther. The 1 I bought a few weeks ago isn't the same one as a year ago.Its circuit board layout is different, that is not big problem except it wont fit well with the FPV Fiberglass Pan-Tilt Camera Mount L-Size the connection spot doesn't line up so you will have to used a Dremel like tool to grind material away so you can plug the wires in.Great product but HobbyKing has to redesign the FPV Fiberglass Pan-Tilt Camera Mount L-Size .

On its first day, it was working flawlessly. I was very happy!! Few days later.. it's working inconsistent. Sometimes I get a signal sometimes I don't. I've already tried cycling the channels of both Vtx & VRx...it just don't work as it should. When I get a signal, I would lose it 5 feet away. Now I'm very mad!!!

My Tx finally stopped working, I guys since I lightened it up by taking it out of it heavy gold case, it really has to be powered on just before you fly or else it will over heat. My problem was just that, it overheated and the solder inside on the circuit board started to flow. It still worked but I could not change the channel, the display on the tx was fully lit. Took it out yesterday, worked than got noise in the feed and the tx would not power on after that. When it did work fine, I was please with it's overall quality as it was my introductory fpv tx. I'm going to buy another in hopes that I am more careful this time to not let it burn up.

1st, so disappointed about the short range ( 100m )

2nd, the connection between the ccd module and tx was incorrect.

I should change the connector holder inversely.
