John
There are three grub screws retaining the pin, simply remove the retract mounting plate (4 cross head screws) put the retract in the down position and you can remove the other two screws

I purchased a set of these a couple months back for my own design 1/10 scale Betty Bomber. I just finished making the landing struts and wanted to install them in the retracts. After removing the set screw the 10mm studs in the retracts come out part way then stop. Even with a pair of pliers I can't pull or twist them out. I don't won't to break them so is there anything else I need to remove besides the one set screw to get the 10mm studs out?

Very well built and strong retract however I only have 6 landings on them with a 13lb plane on one landing I had to turn hard and fast to keep from going into tall grass and bent a set of robart struts but "didn't damage" the retracts. travel speed is very slow and smooth. Down position is very solid. Time will tell but from how they are holding up so far excellent retracts and cant beat them for the price!

Excellent retracts. Solid and function well. I drilled the trunion to 10 mm i.d. to take standard oleos of 12 kg models. I will buy some more

I had bought two pieces for my Gleichauf F-16. For the front retract I used a mechanical one with an RG Futaba servo. For power I could use a separate NiMh battery or a lipo with a voltage regulator. When I tried the main HK retracts sometime were working perfectly and some other don't. Finally both retracts stopped working without any reason. It didn't burned anything , just stopped working. I tried to buy new PCB but these are out of stock. And I didn't even fly the F-16 for the first flight. I decided to buy a new pair retracts and some kilos of new RCB when these would be in stock again hoping for the best. { All electric retracts could be burned. I had bought two new Lado retracts about 120 Euros each and the first one were burned at the third time without even fly my Hellcat 120 for the first time. But Lado has a perfect service. This is the difference.}

very good quality, I good hard landing and broke retract mountain but the retract still with no damage, I use it in 55 Zero about 9 kg , if you have problem with size of the pin, just you reform it by turning.

DISREGARD MY EARLIER NEGATIVE COMMENTS. I HAVE FOUND THAT THE DIE CAST MUCK METAL IS TAKING A LOT OF PUNISHMENT ON A 6k MODEL TURNED DOWN TO ACOMODATE A 6M PIN AND SO FAR IS THE ONLY TURNIGY RETRACT I WOULD BUY AGAIN FOR A 7K MODEL.

Don,t waste your money on this. the 10 m shaft is plain steel not tempered .The rotating retract block is die cast and has already cracked from tightening the allan lock screw. the die cast pivot pin is hollow and ready to shear off at the first landing. Yet again I have wasted my money on a turnigy product that is clearly designed to fail. to cope with a 10kg model this part should be steel
