I bought this engine in early 2013 and I had around 50 flights. The engine was fantastic during all this time, lovely idling, great power and limited dead-sticks. But today 31st Oct 2014, I had 3 flights but when when I took off for the fourth flight something disastrous happened. Engine stopped suddenly seconds after takeoff and the plane crashed in the trees.Upon checking the wreckage I found out that crank-pin was broken and a little piece of engine's outer wall was also broken and fell somewhere. So now engine has a little hole in the wall. Never heard of such thing happening to anyone. So my overall experience of this engine is very bad.

First off let me say that I own many model engines (several ASP 2 stroke and 4 stroke) and have had great results with all . . . except this one. I am hoping that this particular engine is a lemon and not indicative of all ASP .52's. The engine was so tight right out of the box, it was next to impossible to rotate by hand even without a glow plug installed! And no, this is not the slight "tightening" that one experiences with an ABC engine at TDC. I suppose that now I will experience the joy (or heartache) of the HobbyKing RMA process. Rather than request a refund, I intend to exchange it for another one because of my good experience with ASP engines of other displacements.

un motoret xino, funciona fora be pero res a veure amb o.s o webra.n gasta mes que un o.s i menys que un webra, pero la potencia no s'apropa ni de conya al webra.
la direccio de sortida del escape millor ni tocarla. despres de cambiar el sentit de sortida dels fums no para d'afluixarse i apreto lo maxim i es igual. no para de donar voltas. el porto amb una pala 11x7, encara que recomanan una 10x7 que trobo que es molt petita.
amb la 11x7 s'escalfa pero tampoc es critic. es un motoret sense pretensions. per volar be i ja esta.combustible al 5pcnt de nitro. no m'agrada ficar el 10pcnt o mes com recomana les instruccions. una bugia o.s 8. es molt recomanable si no vols gastarte els cales en un os i si mes no funciona casi igual.

Very powerfull engine. I flew few airplanes with this like Super Sports 40, CAP 232 from RADAR Models and my old SkyLex. Very fast :)

Como Todos sabem, um dos melhores produtos da HK. Onde eu voo, 80pcnt usam o ASP 52. Motor muito fcil de trabalhar a sua regulagem e funciona muito bem com combustvel caseiro.

Came very well packaged. I bought this engine as my first engine. I read some reviews about air leaks through the carburetor o-ring and the ones on the needle valves. I suggest that you buy the following with the engine:

red silicon to be applied in the muffler joints to prevent fuel leaks

pure silicone grease to be applied on the carburetor O-ring and needle valves O-rings to ensure longevity and increase the sealing power

teflon tape to be wrapped carefully around the needle valves threads to prevent air leaks.

medium strength thread lock to prevent the carburetor set screws from coming loose due to engine vibrations

hot or medium hot range glow plug to have the smoothest transition from low speed to high speed and good idle. This engine is a powerhouse and these mods should be applied before break in. make sure you take record of the needle valves adjustments form factory before removing them.
