The North American Aviation T-6 Texan was a single-engine advanced trainer aircraft used to train pilots of the United States Army Air Forces, United States Navy, Royal Air Force and other air forces of the British Commonwealth during World War II and into the 1950s. Designed by North American Aviation, the T-6 is known by a variety of designations depending on the model and operating air force. The USAAC and USAAF designated it as the AT-6, the United States Navy the SNJ, and British Commonwealth air forces, the Harvard, the name it is best known by outside of the US. After 1962, US forces designated it the T-6. It remains a popular warbird aircraft used for airshow demonstrations and static displays.

This AT-6 is a highly detailed scale warbird constructed from ultra-durable EPO foam and has great presence both on the ground and in the air. Its vibrant and beautiful scale paint scheme is spot on, while the working split flaps and electronic retracts make it very functional as well! Additional scale details such as the treaded rubber tires, simulated cockpit gauges, air intakes and exhaust pipe give it a very nice touch.

In addition to the high level of scale detail, this AT-6 takes things one step further by including the Hobbyking Engine Sound Module System. This brilliant sound system produces realistic engine sounds that are proportional to the throttle position. The sounds are complete with engine startup/shut down sequences. This system really brings the model to life! Mounting for the sound system's speaker is pre-moulded into the wing of the model making it super easy to install.

Being plug and fly, this model arrives with the servos, ESC and motor all pre-installed, this means you'll just need to add your own battery and radio system.

I have this model for over a year and a half now and is still my favorite. It has quite stunning appearence in the air of much larger model because of very steady and scale flight. It deffinitely attract looks on the flying field.

I'm using 3 Ah batteries for 10 minute flights, and after some considering, I disabled the centre section flap since it didn't work properly (ermainde always at lest a little bit extended), and didn't want to add a third servo just for the central flap.

Also, I removed the pilot figurine and never installed the sound system since both seem too heavy each on it's own, let alone put together in the model of this size.

In this configuration this is a great flying model. The problem is, of course, HK doesn't carry replacement parts, which is a shame...

Brilliant aircraft. I loved flying this and with the sound module was definitely a new dimension added when flying.

My advise for anyone who is purchasing this would be to ensure your CG is correct (follow the instructions) and remove the foam panel behind the main gear you will notice that where the wooden wing spars either the centre section of the wing the panel is glued to paint. I suggest sanding the paint and reapplying a strong glue/epoxy to save your aircraft from the wings folding during flight. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4J9jjv1z9Nc

And lastly to check your servos, possibly replace the preinstalled servos with a metal gear type, unfortunately my aileron servo stripped and could not pull it self out of a roll. Fortunately it is repairable. very durable plane. and looks great

Received mine last week and unpacked it. Very good quality mouldings which fit together nicely. i have done the dry fit and tested the sound generator - awesome noise but will need a little programming thought to get the best visual and audio effect - should not be a problem on the Taranis.

I will put it together next week and report back - i think I will be smiling.

OK, Where to start. I, like many others have crashed this plane due to wings snapping off. I love flying this plane but you MUST REINFORCE THE WING. I used a piece of plywood, epoxy and 4 screws to joint the wings together. DO NOT fly this plane unless you connect the wing spars together or you will loose a wing. I also added a couple of carbon fiber rods into the wings for extra rigidity. You can do this by sliding them in next to the channels for the servos. I have not had to many issues with tip stalls but I keep some speed up when in the turns. Landing is fairly easy with some flaps or without. Speed is key. Do a quality check on everything out of the box. Loose screws, missing parts all kinds of stuff gets overlooked. Once you do all of these quality related items this is a great flying model.

I love this plane however you will need to do some research on how to beef up the wings. My first one crashed due to a very poor wing spar design. NOTE: Connect the two spars together or you will snap a wing off.

Now after a couple flights, I find it very nice looking in the air and on ground, I get a lot of compliments. But, I found out the hard way that it is a little under-powered and required a good length of runway and build-up speed to take off without it stalling and falling. It is also very susceptible to cross wind so be Sure to Take Off DIRECTLY INTO the wind, if any. Once in the air, it is a pleasure to fly, but it is no speed demon, which is actually ok, the real plane was no big aerobatic performer either, just a trainer. On landing, it comes in a little hot, but first stage flaps are mostly all you'll need, remember, it needs a good bit of air over the wings to keep from stalling and falling. Have no doubt, this is Not a good plane for beginners! Overall: NICE PLANE!

Problems with the motor but I resolved it. Problems with a loose retract that pulls to the right on taxi or land.

Paint chips a lot.

Retract is the big deal for me. Can't taxi and must land in the grass.

Had more details but the website timed out. Please ask if you have questions. A replacement retract would be nice but I don't want the stress of convincing with customer service.

I like it. The looks and the sound system makes this plane stand out. Good wheel landings, does not tend to nose overs like so many tail draggers. The space for fitting everything inside is limited, but it can be done. The centre flap is useless, I deleted it. Landing lights look great as well as the nav lights. It is a slow scale flyer, so if you are a speed fiend forget it. Quality would have been tops if it weren't for the poor paint job. Paint rubs off and there are different shades of yellow on various parts. One day it will have to be repainted.
