The Hawker Sea Fury was the last propeller-driven fighter to serve with the Royal Navy and also one of the fastest production piston-engine aircraft ever built. Developed during the Second World War, the Sea Fury entered service two years after the war ended and proved to be a popular aircraft with a number of overseas militaries, also seeing service during the Korean War in the early 1950s. Since that time many airframes have survived through the efforts of private owners and have enjoyed a long post-military career at air shows, with heavily modified versions participating in the annual Reno Air Races in the Unlimited Class.

Avios brings you a exemplary example of the legendary Hawker Sea Fury Reno Racer known to fans the world over as Riff Raff. A brilliant no-glue design arrives with all electronics pre-installed, just needing a battery and radio system to complete. The stunning colors of Riff Raff means this model is sure to please both in the air and on the ground. Appearing annually at the famous Reno Air Races with the number 99, Riff Raff has been pleasing crowds since 1998.

The all EPO molded foam replica features functional split flaps, retracts with gear doors and sequencer, LED lights, and scale 4-blade propeller. For the true speed freaks, you can run standard 2 blade sport propellers for optimal performance. With quality being most important to us here at Avios, each model is individually checked at the factory to make sure it meets stingent quality standards. The Avios 1200mm Riff Raff Sea Fury EPO Racer is no exception. Since it is a plug and fly model, most of the hard work has been done for you. The whole model can be assembled and flight ready in about an hour!

Go fast and turn left, thats the pylon racers mantra. The Avios 1200mm Riff Raff Sea Fury can do, and does. The slightly larger size can handle wind and rougher fields easier than small parkflyer sized models, plus is a little easier to handle.

Riff Raff is sure to be the hit at the field. Speed, good looks, ease of assembly make the Avios 1200mm Riff Raff a no brainer, you need one.

Mine crashed on the first flight. Had CG set to factory spec. Using 6s lipo. Plane took off and headed to sky. No control. Any ideas on the proper CG and prop?

This is a follow-up review to share my experiences after the first 5 flights. Today, I noticed that the prop/motor was making a loud vibrating noise during mid-flight. Following a very difficult and harsh landing, I noticed that two of the four screws fastening the prop adapter to the motor had come loose and were sitting in the cowl. This is a sign of poor workmanship and thankfully, no one was injured today.
Be sure to carefully inspect your model before flying it should you decide to purchase this item.

One of the best quality and easiest to assemble RC planes I've ever purchased. The manufacturer, Avios, put an extensive amount of effort into designing, carefully assembling, packaging, and quality checking this model. I was very impressed by all aspects of this plane and will definitely buy more planes from Avios in the future. Don't take my word for it - buy one for yourself and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Assembled the Avios only to find out that the flap servos were both defective. First flight of the Riff Raff the prop spinner came apart, but I did not care 'cause it flew very well AND happy that the flaps really weren't necessary. Second flight, everything dialed in, I am impressed with the aircraft. Third flight, high-speed climb, the motor separated from the fuselage and although I had control during the decent still nosed into the tarmac and broke the aircraft into 3 pieces. HK said too bad, so sad, not so much. There is a reason why this thing is $100. I suggest looking elsewhere unless you like your aircraft to come apart in the air.

One huge problem is the left flap servo. I'm guessing it needs to be reversed. You would think for a plug and play model you wouldn't have this issue. I have had this plane for three weeks dealing with the warranty claim and still having problems. Beware!

This aircraft has some qualities of construction, a friendly wing with lighting, retractable landing gear and flaps, all fonctionnnant with electronic program. But can not fly well, too heavy, especially with the 3300 6s; In the first flight, must be a great flying ace not the crash, it is much too heavy with 2,8kgs! I made my first flight with propeller 16x8 without light cone and a small battery 5s in 2200 but despite this, it is already heavy and the train was torn as he landed. The CG can be 10cms without problems; But it is ideal to put a mixing not it rears when you have the flaps to undershoot. You have to have great technical ability to do well fly this plane, but I do not regret this purchase, I will now attempt to develop because you must know the set and make changes.

2850 g very heavy model. but flies super. I would never have believed. I'm very surprised. With the 3300mAh battery, the focus is exactly right. No lead necessary.
Flying Speed not too fast. Landing speed ok.
