This ESC will make the motor hesitate for about 2 to 3 seconds and then it will rev up.

That's normal for their design says their manual.

Did not work at all. Made the motor go fast for a second and then stop repeatedly. As they said above, maybe it needs programming.

Blue Arrow 6A Brushless Contro

Nov 14, 2007

This is a nice controller. It is seems quite tolerant for short bursts at 10A and it has a nice and linear response.

I use it with the 10gr 18-11 out runner (2000kV) and a 7x5 APC E-style prop (prop weights in another 7-8gr). This gives you an excellent combination together with a 2S LiPo with 300~600mAh.

The weight of the controller seems to be without cables but you can directly solder the motor to the controller. This saves the extra weight. Then you get a nice combination for small planes.

The reason that I give it only four stars is, that you cannot program it with your TX! You really have to buy the programing card (which costs more than the controller!) Unfortunately, the brake-function is off by default. (That means your prop will be windmilling when you come in for a landing.) Otherwise I would be happy with the default settings (LiPo Cell-count: auto detect soft-start soft cut-off at 3.0V per cell).

The controller is wonderfull! Exept that you can't program it with your TX(as mentioned in here: http://www.bphobbies.com/pdf/ba/ba_brushless_esc_manual.pdf ) and the programing card cost more than the controller... I use it with hexTronik 16gram Brushless Outrunn, hexTronik 460mAh 2S1P 15C and it works satisfying. And the price is the best!

WARNING

The controller and wires weigh 8.3 grams...not 5 as advertised!!!

You need the programming card to change the default settings. You cannot use the Tx!!!!
