The Berserker 1/8 Truggy is for those who like driving on the edge of sensible and it has been built tough and reliable to make sure you can stay there. When we were developing this truggy our brief was for a truggy that was out of the box faster than anything we have made before and capable of doing that time and time again. From the chassis to the suspension, to the power system and even it's distinctive yellow and black painted polycarbonate shell, nothing has been overlooked to ensure it is the best available.

Now the Berserker has been upgraded to give a superior driving experience. The tires have been totally changed to give better traction. They are made of a softer compound and have a higher density foam inners. To help with the ride the front and rear shocks have had a change of oils that will help to keep you going over the roughest terrain. To complete the changes the differential oils have been changed to provide better performance.

The Berserker is packed full of features that will leave the others for dead. To start with there is a solid aluminum chassis with aluminum front and rear shock towers to keep everything aligned and stable. High quality, big bore, oil filled shocks are used for the performance and handling you would expect in a high-end race truggy. The sealed radio box keeps your receiver safe from any knocks and the huge soft square pin tires are a great balance of performance to keep you moving over most surfaces from rocky trails to paved roads.

One of the most exciting features of this truggy is that it comes set up for use with 3S or 4S batteries but if you want more speed then you can change out the 46T diff and pinion gear and replace it with the 49T diff and 12T pinion gear included in the box that is designed to run with 6S batteries to get the Berserker really screaming. Don't be fooled though, the Berserker is plenty fast enough on 3S for most drivers, exciting on 4S and...BERSERK on 6S.

This is NOT a kit of parts it is a partially built model, it is designed for people who want to add their own electronics.

The Berserker is simply the most exciting wheeled vehicle we have ever sold and we know you will feel the same when yours arrives and you get out there and break the rules.

I bought this as they made improvements to the original version.
However, I bought a load of parts for it and half of them were on backorder, been waiting 2 months for the order but nothing was back in stock.
I contacted Hobbyking and an agent called Diane has told me that they will not be getting the parts that were on backorder, they will not be receiving any more of those items.
Now I am unsure whether she has simply got it wrong and misunderstood me.
Personally parts are a pain to acquire as lots is always out of stock and this happens to all the cars they release, You would have thought they would double up the stock every time they replenish or at least have a more consistent supplier.
Save your money and buy a bigger known brand at least parts are more accessible.
Apart from spare parts everything else I have purchased has been top notch, Apart from one dead ESC which they replaced.

Very nice kit for the price. Only major thing worth considering is the fact that the screws and nuts are of a pretty poor quality. But hey, I've always upgraded to stainless 4A fasteners on my RC's anyway.
Another drawback is the battery tray. Who on earth came up with the idea of a battery tray that is only 145mm long when there is as much room as there is? Also, it would have been nice if the motor mount had included provisions for 4mm screws and 25.4mm hole spacing. I made this mod to my car as I run a NEU 1527 motor and that runs a wider-than-540 mount style.
One of the great things are that done right, you can run this thing on 10S. There's room for a very long motor, and with a few easy mods, a 56 diameter motor could fit. There's room for running a motor that is 4.25" long, so don't settle for a 4082, when you can do better. A 4092 or 40106 is perfect for this truggy. Not only can you make it blisteringly fast if you want, but you can also choose to run on 4S but with super low temps and a super high efficiency for long run times. A 4092 or 40106 1200-1500 kv motor is what this needs. I managed to fit a MAX6 ESC and my MGM fits as well. With the stock battery tray, you can still get over 5000 mAh while keeping your power pack under 675 grams. Not bad at all.
In kit form, it's a great car and a steal for the price.
