Impressive.

May 14, 2019

I fly fixed wing, and after getting back into the hobby this year, I thought I would replace one of my old D2826-6 2200 motors with one of these little guys on 4S.
I was hesitant at first because of how small the DYS is compared to the larger aircraft-specific cans, when I saw it I didn't think it could handle a full-size Tek Sumo. But it can... oh, it definitely can.
The motor quality is very high compared to the motors I'm used to (Turnigy, NTM). Tolerances are tight and the bearings are excellent.
The prop speed is incredible for the size! I'm running a 6x4 on 75-150C 1300 4S, and as long as I'm nice to it, the motor stays no more than warm to the touch. I figure since you're always moving when flying fixed-wing, the motor has better airflow and seems to handle the larger prop just fine. I'm on a Turnigy Plush ESC circa 2015, not sure the amp rating, and the timing seems to work decently with the 4S pack, although once in awhile it will stutter momentarily. Some people wouldn't even notice, though. Easy fix though as there are so many great ESC's nowadays.
I guess there is a tradeoff in torque. On a Tech Sumo, the 6x4 never moves the aircraft fast enough to work efficiently at full throttle, so I would say a 900mm light wing is about as big as you would want to go. Something like a park jet or similar would be absolutely perfect, I would be you could squeeze a few thousand RPM's more out of this little motor just by putting it on a smaller aircraft like that.
Anyway, I'll be grabbing at least a few more, and some other racing motors as well now that I know they're so excellent for fixed wing flying.

Good Motors

Apr 21, 2019

These motors work extremely well with my 210mm quad and perform extremely well with 4045 props. The price is mostly competitive but could be a little cheaper. Otherwise, these motors look really nice and have good build quality. Definitely worth a buy.

Powerful but amp hungry

Feb 20, 2018

Good motors. They quiten as they warm up. Quick to spin due to 2205 can but are understandably amp hungry. Top speed on a light 5inch frame will be insane with these.

These motors are FURIOUS almost scary lol
These were designed for high performance FPV race quads but I use these on Fixed wing aircraft with 4s packs and 5x4x3blade props and a 30Amp ESC. I Got 2: 1cw and 1 ccw
-Quality and finish are absolutely perfect as expected from DYS
-They are well balanced out of the box
-at 15$ the value is unmatched
-bolt pattern is the usual 12mm by 16mm
-comes with plenty of extra screws and 2 nylon prop bolts
I am not equipped to give you test data but you can find that on youtube easily
