Great looking plane but we'll under powered. First flight it took the whole runway to lift then couldn't clear the trees and crashed. Second flight after some repairs I gave the ailerons 150pcnt travel and also gave the throttle 150pcnt travel, this gave the plane enough power and lift to take off and fly. I put a turnigy 2200mah 60-120c battery in this plane and got a maximum of 4 mins flying. Not the best flying plane and not very fast but is ok for the money.

The model to me appear quite well made with very high density foam. With most cheap model there are always some things that need upgrading. I would agree with the previous comment the motor is poor quality. I have not flown, but spun the motor with my hand and could hear a grinding sound. Pulled motor apart and found the magnets silver covering coming off exposing a dull grey grainy interior. I tried to remove the shards but it all was coming off and now the magnets look like they have metal filing attached. I have replaced with 2815 motor and will see how that goes. I will replaced the hinging material on the flight control surfaces with hinges. I will update once built and flown

This is unfortunately the second Hobby king plain that I have purchased that the motor packed in during the first flight. Clearly the design and PR departments of Hobby King aren't talking to each other!

i received the plane trying to test it after assembly and the ESC was not working, 2 of the servos that comes with it was not working either
i had to replace these 3 parts in order to have it running.

the user manual or the map is very poorly documented, it does not mention even the setting for the elevator wings.

Hi Guys, part 2 as there was too much info for one page, so from where I left off...."concealed around the edge of the pilots seat and connected them up to a RX. After binding and ensuring the elevon mixing was successful, I used a hot knife and melted out a section of the lower seat, sufficient enough to conceal the RX from view and removed some of the pilots' bum as well and he sits on the RX, completely concealing it; it was only a matter of placing a drop of hot glue to his shoulder and the cockpit was complete. It looks pretty awesome even if I do say so myself. I also painted the inside of the cockpit area black as well as the servo wires before securing them into the housing grooves so that only black was visible. Flying this bird is easy and even though I've only been flying for a year, it was a breeze, but I only did some scale flying for my maiden with this plane. There is plenty of power for the odd roll and the only thing I could criticise about this plane is that you could very easily lose orientation if the light conditions were poor. I would say that for the price, it would have to be one of the best value planes available from HK and I have 25 planes in my hanger, so I have learned a bit about price and value for money and this Nighthawk is the best I have found thus far. Howdy Pilots, well, the only thing I can say about this jet is -"GET ONE TODAY". Arrived in pristine condition and goes together with a minimum of fuss. Would take about an hour to build allowing for the epoxy to set between each application of parts, but me being a fussy bugger, I like to make all my planes look as authentic as possible, so it took me a bit more than an hour. Firstly I removed a wooden box from the cockpit which is there to house the bust of the pilot which is supplied and then went to work to make the cockpit look as authentic as possible with what I had on hand. I grabbed an Ultra Detail Scale F-22 Cockpit from HK - SKU: 189000009 that I had purchased long ago and went to work with a hot knife and shortened the front and rear of the cockpit. Next I removed the seat, cut out the area where the seat was, leaving me with a U shaped cockpit. I removed the left side of the console and was able to manoeuvre the cockpit into position around the pilots' seat that is part of the model. Next I took a scale J-35 pilot, SKU: HK-0009 which I had also bought from HK, and placed him in position to ascertain how lower the left side console needs to be to allow the pilots' arm to rest on it. After doing so and cutting off what was required, I cemented the console into position. The next step would not suit everybody but I collected the servo wires and had them concea

I've had one of these for about a year now - and I agree that they look beautiful...but fly really badly. The basic problem is that they are underpowered, but then I've upgraded mine to the Mercury alloy fan and it still underpowered. I think the exhaust outlets are just too small for an engine to breathe properly. Pity...one way cool looking plane. If you do get yours to fly, watch out when you slow it down for a landing. Mine rocks violently from side to side. OK for belly landing, but it would be impossible with retracts.
