The Grumman F9F Panther was the manufacturers first jet fighter and one of the US Navy's first successful carrier-based jet fighters. The Panther was the most widely used US Navy jet fighter of the Korean War and scored the first air to air kill by the US Navy during this period. The Panther was also the first jet aircraft used by the Blue Angels display team from 1949 until late 1954.

The model is of the F9F-2 version and is finished in the popular blue, red and yellow scheme of the US Navy. This is an excellent color scheme for a model as the red and yellow on the wings really stands out against all sky conditions, also because of its straight wing configuration and high tail it is an excellent choice for a first EDF project. The Panther is fitted with a 70mm 10 blade glass filled nylon fan unit with metal shroud and 3000kv brushless motor that will give up to 1700g of thrust on a 4S pack, this gives the Panther a good turn of speed and enables the model to perform reasonably large loops and climbing reversals for a real scale flying experience. Another feature this model has is that it is fitted with functional scale auxiliary intakes, these are located on the top of the fuselage and are sprung loaded, as power is applied these intakes are sucked open to provide more intake air without the need for cheater holes.  It is made of tough EPO foam and has the servo's, retracts, ESC and EDF unit pre-installed. Final assembly is minimal and should only require approximately one evenings work to have it ready for the flying field.

Features:
• Powerful 4S EDF system pre-installed
• Electric metal retracts
• 5-channel control with optional flaps
• Functional auxiliary intakes
• Tough EPO construction
• Plug and Fly - just requires your own battery and radio system

Great looking EDF. Quality components I.E. 10 blade fan unit, electric retracts w/suspension, etc.. Only reason not 5 stars across the board is the one I got is NOT EPO. When gluing the wing tanks on, I decided for ease to use thick CA glue. 5 min later the foam had disintegrated all around the area. That would not happen with EPO. Filled with micro balloons and epoxy no worries. I'm not one of "those guys" that'll cry and want a refund. Move on, this one is EPS and I'd still get another one.

Fab jet for second EDF great flyer, goes together with a little patience to make alignments perfect.Have to be careful with handling during constuction as the paint seems easily damaged.I found a perfect match touch up paint then coated it with sealer.I would set the COG 5mm forward of the recommended 75mm (which is measured from the front of the air intake not the wing leading edge).Floats on landing so am installing flaps on mine. The auto air intakes work well.Flight time 7 mins on 4 cell 3800 mA with 30pcnt residual. The hatch clamp needs to be loosened as hatch is prone to damage when servicing lipo unit.

Packaging ,not the best outer carton but no damage on receipt.Paintwork easily scratched even on carefull unpacking.I coated mine with clearcote sanding sealer seemed to be more resistant to contruction rash.Lander gear ,Lander EDF,good quality 80A ESC no skimp there.
No pilot included which would have been nice.....
Most of construction already done just fitting pieces together tail, wings, droptanks, makes life easy.
Do not like the hatch system for battery, held in with pegs and clip..serious wear here after a few flights.I modified mine to plywood tounge and magnets.
C of G a bit vague...should be set at 65 to 70 mm for first flights ie nose heavy..then adjusted backwards ie.75mm when throws are comfortable.
Spring loaded supplimentary air intakes nice touch....
Overall good model for the money .Lander product although not advertised as such
