Frsky have put their reliable and well-known frequency hopping ACCST technology into the new Taranis Q X7 radio system with addition of full telemetry. All the usual Taranis features are used in this radio such as Receiver Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) alerts, Real-time Flight Data Logging and receiver matching.

There is a new look case that comes in either black or white. Once again the excellent Quad Ball-Bearing Gimbals are used and it is up to you to determine what mode to set the radio to and also if you want self-centering spring loaded sticks (standard) or the usual stationary set throttle.

The Taranis mixes the power of the “OPEN TX” open-source software with an ergonomic case with 6 programmable switches (4 x 3-position, 1 x 2-position, 1 x momentary) and two twist knobs. Set up your switches and controls how you want them.

Alerts can be presented in the form of audio speech outputs, sound or vibration alerts making this extremely user-friendly. The MicroSD card slot offers unlimited model memory options, it also has a USB port for upgrades and to connect to a PC for adjusting settings. As well as this there is the ability to use all your model files from the older TARANIS X9D/X9D Plus/X9E making it easy to get the new system up and working.

The FrSky Taranis Q X7 is a very versatile, cost effective radio.

• Quad Ball Bearing Gimbals
• Receiver Match
• Audio Speech Outputs (values, alarms, settings, etc.)
• Real-time Flight Data Logging
• Receiver Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) Alerts

• Model files are compatible with TARANIS X9D/X9D Plus/X9E.
• Open source firmware OpenTx installed.

QX7 is a Great Transmitter

Dec 04, 2019

What you can do with this transmitter is great you can pair it with most of the receiver that Taranis makes I love it you can put sound files on it but I wish it came with its own Battery instead of buying it by its self it does not even come with a battery tray

Excellent radio - very happy

Oct 20, 2019

amazing radio at a great price. have Frsky in all of my planes and never had a problem with it. love how programmable this radio is but there's a bit of a learning curve (lots of youtube videos). don't waste your money on the "name brand" mainstream systems...frsky is legit. put my own custom splash screens and sounds in it....which is a nice touch. does not come with a battery tray anymore they changed the design to have an external charging port. i purchased a tray from banggood for less than $5 but i ended up just wiring a 2s lipo that i use and it works great. Awrsome radio. controls are precise and so smooth. very satisfied.

No Battery Tray

Jul 26, 2019

After finding out this didn't come with a battery, I did research on what to do. All the research I did showed the controller came with a AA battery holder. I found people who had used the enclosed battery tray, with the included battery clips to make their own custom 3D printed tray to accept different batteries. THIS RADIO DIDN'T EVEN COME WITH A BATTERY TRAY. Just a warning to others.

Best radio for the price. I already have a Taranis E soI was already familiar with OpenTX, a breeze to set up. Hall effect gimbals would be a nice upgrade

Really great transmitter. Has so much programmable features and can be customized with almost anything you can think of. Great for mini quads and haven't had a lock out yet and have flown a few kilometers away and no issues.

Recently I purchased this transmitter for my plane.I was really amazed quality of transmitter.I really like it.Came with stickers, instruction manual and neck strap.Unfortunately battery didn't come with this product.Anyway, either you may use 6xAA batteries or Nimh/Lipo battery it's up to you.As far as I learnt from other users, battery compartment depth is about 17mm.As a battery choice I ordered 7.2V NiMh FrSKY Transmitter battery which is sold by the other hand, that rechargeable battery comes with JST-XH Female connector. Therefore, you need to have connector to be able to charge it.I haven't flown with this transmitter yet but it's powerful and quality.I do recommend every pilot who consider to buy this transmitter.
