TURNIGY, the name synonymous with performance, reliability and innovation is excited to release a powerful new battery chemistry in the Turnigy Graphene!
What does this really mean for you? Well not only do Graphene batteries go harder for longer but they're unlike anything you have seen or used before.
Turnigy Graphene packs utilize carbon in the battery structure to form a single layer of graphene just 0.335nm thick, making that type of battery substrate the thinnest known to mankind. The graphene particles form a highly dense compound allowing electrons to flow with less resistance compared to traditional Lipoly battery technologies.
The result is a battery capable of maintaining greater power output whilst remaining much cooler under load. Since heat and resistance are the natural enemy of batteries Graphene chemistry has significantly reduced these problems and the result is an incredible boost in cycle life.
Turnigy Graphene batteries are the new standard for serious hobbyists who require POWER ON DEMAND.
Voltage: 3S1P /3 Cell / 11.1V
Discharge: 45C Constant / 90C Burst
Weight: 201g (including wire, plug & case)
Balance Plug: JST-XH
Discharge Plug: XT-60
Note: Graphene LiPo Batteries only require a standard Lipo battery charger.
Advantages over traditional Lipo batteries.
• Power density: 0.15-0.17kw/kg (5Ah-16Ah)
• Power density: 0.13-0.15kw/kg (1Ah-4.9Ah).
• Stable High pack voltage through duration of use.
• High discharge rate, giving more power under load.
• Internal impedance can reach as low as 1.2mO compared to that of 3mO of a standard Lipoly.
• Greater thermal control, packs stay much cooler under extreme conditions
• Higher capacity during heavy discharge.
• Maintains higher pack capacity even after hundreds of cycles
• Fast charge capable, up to 15C on some batteries.
• Longer Cycle Life (reportedly in excess of 900 during testing).

I compared this with a Turingy NanoTech of the same capacity and C-rating. Both batteries were brand-new. This battery has the PERFECT weight for my custom-made 450 flybarless heli (no need for extra weight). I performed two flights of moderate sports flying (no loops or inverted flights) with each battery and measured their temperatures at the end of each flight with a high precision IR meter. In fact, the "Graphene" was 1.5°C cooler than the NanoTech.Packaging is very snazzy, beautiful box and a velvety drawstring pouch. Obviously these go straight in the bin so my input to Hobbyking would be to revert to standard sensible packaging and reduce the price.
I bought two Graphenes, both 2,200 mAh 45C three cells and they have the lowest internal resistance (IR) that I have ever tested! They came charged to 20pcnt and almost perfectly balanced, biggest difference was 0.003 V.
Price was (£19.69)They weighed 217g about 41g more than the equivalent Nanotech 2,200 mAh 25-50C three cell (£12.97). And 27g heavier than a regular blue Turnigy 2,200 mAh 20C three cell @ (£7.69)
After a flight down to 20pcnt capacity, they were hardly even warm, almost zero temperature increase.
Initial impression is very positive but how they perform over time and longevity will be the key as they are expensive and need to be able to deliver more than 2-3 times the number of charge/discharge cycles to me a good investment. These Turnigy Graphene batteries are very nice and packed in a cloth drawstring black bag (like Crown Royal) and placed in a foam lined black box with earth magnet lid. I do believe they could lower the price of these batteries if they eliminated the cloth drawstring bag and fancy box which neither make your plane fly. I rather save several dollars on the price of the battery.Provata, carica eccezzionale, minimo sbalzo tra celle, perfettaheel goede lipo heel mooi verpaking .dat 10van mijThe carefully chosen range of HobbyKing Lipo Btteries is an absolute must for the keen Hobby Flyer, Rc Car racer, Boat driving & Quad racing.. Highly recommend the all New Graphine range of batteries for reliability & punch of power they are capable of delivering ! ease of charging using a HobbyKIng LiPo charger ... when correctly stored whilst not in use these batteries will last many seasons .. I always choose from the HobbyKing range of batteries be they the fantastic BOLT LiHV to the new Graphine range HobbyKIng sell only superior batteries at the most competitive prices, I have searched many other outlets and always return to HobbyKIng for the best deals !I have got and tried the graphene batteries I can say they are very good and hold there power the only down side is the price. I would be happy if they came in a standard box like the zippy and bring the price down and not in a fancy box with a velvet pouch do we really need the fancy stuffwow, the packaging is great, the large box that it came in is as big as the box that i carry my 6 other batteries, and this is just for one battery! all padded in foam, wrapped in a neat little velvet pouch, the wires seem great quality, and the black connectors look great, i only wish they center mounted the wires like the multistar racers, im not a fan of the wire coming out perpendicular to the body of the battery.Received one today, the box is very nice AND HEAVY!! The lipo itself looks stunning.
Tested it with Wayne Giles ESR meter after giving the lipo some cycles.
ir @ 21celcius 7.5 a cell so safe to use without damaging 22C
ir @ 40celcius (preheated) 1.5 a cell so safe to use without damaging 39C
That is the same result as most Nanotech have, for me that is fine.
Looking forward to see how many cycles the lipo will hold it's power.
The heavy box is rubbish, the transport cost for the box are more that the lipo, so value in my opinion is 4 crowns
