The Corsair served in some air forces until the 1960s, following the longest production run of any piston-engined fighter in history (1940 - 1953).

Nice plane!

Flyes nice. Easy to build

Default instructions might cause the wing server to burn out.

Think how to set it up better or use the provided updated sheet that tells you to use 2 servos, one for each eleron and then connect with a Y-cable.

GWS Corsair

Nov 14, 2007

This model was my first warbird 3-4 years ago. I built it in 1 evening (with an E-flight Park 370 outrunner + 1350mah 2 cell lipo and 18 amp BESC) I was told by a good friend to move the CG about 0.5 inche forward of the recommended spot and to go without the landing gear both for looks and performance. Also I lightly sanded the foam prior to painting over the coloring with a darker blue (Testors spray) to more closely match "Pappy Boyington's" Corsair. The plane flew beautifully and was a dream to maneuver. The only draw back was it has a nasty wing tip stall at low speed turns (warbirds are meant to scream not take their time). I would highly recommend this as a plane to goof off with at a park. Looks great in the air and foamies are durable (put some clear tape around that cowling to increase its durability) Unlike several others I did not use 2 servos for the ailerons I built it the way GWS asked, did take some work to get them centered together.

Excellent plane. Easy to build. Better mounted with 2 wing servo's.

It is my 2d plane and my 1st warbird. Very smooth reaction, very stable !

Mounted with an outrunner 1400 kv and D9 2200 mah 11.1v lipo

A lot of fun !
