This H-King version of this very impressive F-16 Fighting Falcon is manufactured in EPO foam and is beautifully finished in an authentic USAF color scheme with the decals pre-applied at the factory. The H-King F-16 has outstanding flight characteristics in its own right, it flies like it is on rails, but the pre-installed ORX 6-axis gyro takes this to another level. Pilots of all levels of experience will benefit from using the intermediate gyro setting, this really does improve stability and smoothes out the flight, especially in windy conditions. For beginners and low hours pilots, the flight stabilization system makes it even easier to fly. It utilizes a 32bit MCU for ultra-fast control response and has 3 settings, gyro off, gyro on, and training mode. In the training mode, the gyro gives full stability and also limits the amount of roll and pitch that can be used. In gyro-on mode, this gives slightly less aided stability and does not limit the roll or pitch that can be used, perfect for smooth, jet-style aerobatics. In gyro off mode, it is exactly that, no gyro at all.

The H-King F-16 is modeled on airplane 302 FS AFRC Red Tail as flown from Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, in the United States, it even sports a pair of Sidewinder missiles on the wing tips. A low parts count means that assembly of the H-King F-16 Fighting Falcon is quick and easy. It comes mainly pre-built with the 50mm 12-bladed EDF, motor, ESC, and servos pre-installed. All you need to do is glue on the nose cone, plug in the two wings (these are held in place with strong magnets), assemble the tail parts, and install your chosen receiver and battery, that's it!

Unlike similar EDFs on the market that use a 3S battery, the H-King F-16 has been designed around a 4S set-up. This makes the H-King F-16 stand out from the crowd, it gives it the extra power to do those huge looping and vertical maneuvers that fast jets are renown for, it also looks fantastic when doing fast, low passes over the take-off strip. The flight characteristics of the F-16 do not stop with fast-flying only, the slow-speed handling is exceptional as well, with slow, high-alpha passes being a breeze to perform.

To summarize, the F-16 is quick and simple to build, it is tough, the stabilization system makes it very smooth and stable in all weather, and the 4S set-up gives it loads of power and speed. This super cool H-King F-16 Fighting Falcon is a must-have to add to your squadron of airplanes.

Great looking little plane

Sep 19, 2024

I must say i was impressed by the quality and the detailed instructions of the manual (downloaded in pdf form). One of the best written manuals ever. Good work. Now, haven't flown it yet, but as there are quite a few videos one youtube already, anyone can see this is a nice flyer too. The material quality is very good, only the missiles should be made of plastic, or maybe rubber-like, because those little pieces of foam are gonna be missed after the first couple flights for sure. The battery compartment is large, i had no problem for a 1100 4s battery. I must find a way to strengthen the belly (plastic fins and foam), for the landings. Overall a very very nice looking plane, with good quality materials in a right price (at 103 euros including postage).

Flys great but accidents happen and parts are few

Aug 05, 2024

The jet flies great and is a lot of fun, but accidents do happen and one of the big ones is banging up your nose, fuselage and main wings. Especially since this model is a belly lander. It's a pity that as of this review they do not sell a replacement nose, fuselage or main wings. I think the $160 full price is a little steep but on sale for around $100 is totally worth it. I have six flights on mine so far and the nose got hit pretty hard dumb thumbing it so she isn't going to win any beauty pageants but she still flies fine after some boiling water and a little glue. I have ordered a second one now to keep my hanger looking pretty and will give this banged up one to my father as he wants to learn to fly EDF and this is a good beginner for him in my opinion. BUILD, FLY, CRASH, REPAIR and FLY AGAIN!

Fun little jet! Fast and a blast to fly

Jul 23, 2024

I have an assortment of 70, 80, and 90mm jets, but wanted something small to just toss in the car and go fly. For this, the F16 did not disappoint. I used a turnigy 1,000mah 4S battery, but ended up getting a couple 1,300mah batts for longer flight time (required a little trimming from the inside of the canopy).
This thing is a hoot to fly. Turning on the "auto level" mode makes it super easy to hand launch. Switch to stabilized mode and you can even fly in higher winds. The vertical climb on this jet is awesome, it has almost enough power to hover. With full throws, the roll rate is insane. It also does high-alpha flying extremely well.
I only have 2 minor complaints: 1. The elevator servos strip out easily. I had a little bit of a rougher landing, nothing crazy, but it stripped out a servo. I threw in a spektrum 9g servo I had sitting around. That brings me to complaint 2. I guess they use reverse servos in the tail. I did a straight swap of both servos (so they match) and the gyro was correcting in the wrong direction (worked fine prior to stripping the servos). There is no way to reverse the direction on the gyro. I ended up having to buy a different gyro to get flying again.
Overall, a top notch plane that I will be flying for a long time!

Nice jet..if only getting one I'd choose the F18

Feb 08, 2024

I bought both the F18 and F16 from HobbyKing. F16 had a bad servo (happens). Swapping out was pretty easy. As far as flying....they both fly nice but the F18 seems a bit more locked in. Good EDF for the $....both of them.

A nice looking plane. FAST. Very sensitive to inputs even in beginner gyro.

This is not an intermediate or beginner plane. It is for int. to expert only. It stalls, even in beginner mode, with very little movement of the sticks.

Excellent Park Jet

Aug 27, 2022

Nice setup on this plane, light weight, fun to fly and it fly's fast. 70MPG to be exact on mine. Great color scheme, the 50mm really has some punch to it, although I think it needs a tad bit more, either way great flyer and highly recommend.

My Favorite 50mm EDF!

Aug 25, 2022

I have both F/A-18 and F-16 they both fly great but I prefer the F-16. The color is great for orientation. The stabilizer works great if that's something you want to use.

Great little plane

Jul 26, 2022

I have had good luck flying this plane on no larger than 1600ma 4s. EDF’s take a moment to get up to speed so that the small wings just won’t support any more weight at the critical time of launch. The battery likes to be way back so as to not make it too nose heavy. The plane will fly in nose high attitude until it gets going and flattens out. THROW IT like a football, nose up and hard, a little wind helps.

great flyer

Jul 08, 2022

Maidened today with 1300 4s Nanotech : easy to start, great flyer - and the stabi system works wonderful - big fun to fly high alphas - I had bumpy gusts up to 30 km/h - no problem at all.
