Turning Trix offers you a wild 3D experience, this is a 30cc Gas size plane designed and built purely for electric power, it has been designed ultra light, giving you a massive thrust/weight ratio with the reccomended Turnigy power train.

Turning Trix has a nice quality construction, it has been well thought out for electric power, this is not simply a gasser with an EP label stuck on it! Flying weight will be the same if not less than an equivalent size gasser and with the reccomended Turnigy Rotomax 1.60 fitted, you are going to have potentially 3kw clean power for an amazing power to weight, not to mention the thrust of a 21" prop up front! Both the wings and horizontal stabilizers are plug in and all control surfaces are pin hinged. The strong alloy undercarriage bolts into alloy strenghtening plates for durability and the hardware uses ball-linked, heavy duty pushrods and strong but light glassfiber control horns. The colour scheme is wow, and ideal for orientation, the covering has been expertly applied Turning Trix is finished off by a glossy painted glassfibre cowl and wheel pants.

So what's she like when you ask for 3D business? Turning Trix rises to the occasion, the combination of huge power, light weight, large control surfaces and precision airframe gives you a high class 3D experience, Turning Tricks maybe a bit cheap to buy but you will be amazed by how many extra maeuvers she throws in when asked nicely!

As others have said, not quite up to EF or Sebby's quality, but not far off. I have 10S x 5000 Zippy Compacts in mine and the plane does "feel" a little heavy in the air, I might try some lighter batteries, but with Rotomax 160 and YEP120 ESC the performance is good at around 70 Amps max. Still experimenting with balance point - plenty of room for movement here. Great looker and all in all a really good 1000 performance model for less than 500 all up! Very happy customer!

I just received mine today .. one word "AWESOME". Paint looks great, everything present, I am glad I bought this. I do wish the "distructions" came with it. Oh well .. I'll put it together. The big question .. electric or gas ... hummmm. Leanning towards electric. Thanks Hobbyking

Quality is not quite up there with extreme flight or Sebart but then it's a fraction of their prices! Flight performance is is good, very neutral with very little coupling in knife edge, flys 'light' for sure. Good value for money.

While after purchasing this mx it does look as nice as it does on hk site but it come with no instructions , no c of g, and nothing to hold the canopy down ? So you have to fit something up yourself ? Having said that it comes with good hinges and hardware set ,

Finally completed the build, to my satisfaction.
Fixed the poor canopy fit by removing material from both ends of the canopy frame and fuse. I used an aluminium canopy latch to fix the canopy at the rear. I replaced the off centre wheels with Du-Bro hollow rubber ones with a similar diameter. The L.H. wing root required a 4mm balsa wedge added to the rear third to fit the fuse without a gap. I added fixing points rearward of the wing spar tray to fit a single rudder servo tray with ball raced C/F control arms and pull / pull cables to fabricated C/F rudder control horns with 102mm centres (to match forward arm dim's) spacing was 830mm.
I fabricated 4 motor stand-off posts with M4 fixings to suit the Rotomax 1.60 fitted. I also used HD alloy servo arms on all servos.
Ready to fly weight is 5.65kg with 2 x 4000mah 5S 25C LiPo's and C.G. measured as 55mm from L.E. at the wing tips. This is with no ballast added other than a 6mm neoprene pad added to the rear of the firewall for battery protection against motor fixing bolt heads.
Control throws are set as per the manual I've added under the files tab. (The manual was copied from the British Warehouse site)
Looking forward to the test flying phase, soon..................

This is undoubtedly in my opinion one of the very best planes that HK sell, the fuselage is very long its exactly the same length as a Wind 110 and it flies like it too. It tracks as straight as an arrow and carves beautiful arcs in the sky just like a pattern plane should but with those huge ailerons and elevator its more than capable of 3D. Because it really was built for electric its also very light and for this money a steal. Ive had mine a year now and it must have 100 plus flights on it and absolutely nothing has broken, fallen off, failed or gone wrong. Personally I wouldnt put the recommended (here) Rotormax motor in it I have the SK3 5065 320 KV in mine turning an 18 X 10 prop on ten cells through a K Force Esc and its perfect. The SK3 is much lighter (over 300gms) and less than half the price, also (because of its shape) its a much better fit in the plane. Cant recommend this airframe enough but leave the stickers off, get some black tinted paint and spray the instead of the canopy and this is a pure and beautiful MX2.

Postage $13.99 with 3 day turnaround from the HK Aus Warehouse.
The kit was double boxed, and arrived intact, well done HK.
The kit itself is large, no instructions are supplied, hardware is seperately bagged and is basic. 4mm Landing gear bolts are missing, wheel hubs are drilled off centre rendering them useless, cowling paintwork is poor with raised paint edges due to edge masking & paint bleed across colours. Canopy does not fit fuse and will require frame trimming to fit, no latching for canopy is supplied. Covering will need rework around vertical stab. Aluminium landing gear will need ends trimmed 12mm to fit wheel spats properly, wheel axil's appear inadequate for a 5kg aircraft. Wing & stab main spars are thin wall aluminium tube & seem too short. Hinging is flat plastic pinned variety. I will fit Turnigy Rotomax 1.60 outrunner, dlux 120A HV opto ESC, dlux 10A HV SBEC, ultra light 20 x 12" wood propeller, 75mm carbon spinner, digital servos are 3 x HXT 10kg & 2 x 4.8kg mini's on stab. I will convert rudder to pull/pull using 0.8 coated wire cables. Batteries are 2 x Zippy compact 4000mAh 25C 5S Li-Po @ 460gr each. I'll report again when it's all together & tested......
