Good deal for the money. A metal tail slider would be nice considering the tail rotor is all metal except for this piece. Good complete kit. High quality hardware. Good entry level helicopter kit.
Today 04/16/2016. All head plastic links needed to changed. Was aprox 2mm too short.Replaced with original ones. If you try to give lenghts on links according 600CF manual, you remain with 2.5 mm thread in each link.
GOT ANOTHER HK600GT. ARRIVED ON TIME AND UNDAMAGED. THIS TIME IM GOING TO FIT IT INTO A FUNKEY 50 SIZE JETRANGER BODY. IVE HAD TO MODIFY THE TAILBOX SLIGHTLY TO ALLOW IT TO SLIDE THROUGH THE TAILBOOM OF THE JETRANGER, BUT IT FITS IN NICELY. REALLY GOOD VALUE KIT FOR THE PRICE. THANKS AGAIN HK.
GOT THIS HELI A WHILE AGO BUILT IT AND GAVE IT ITS MAIDEN FLIGHT TODAY. FITTED WITH HK401 GYRO BLUEBIRD SERVOS 150 AMP YEP ASC ASSAULT MOTOR AND JR RADIO GEAR. HOVERED NICE AND STABLE ON HEAD HOLD IN 17MPH WINDS. VERY IMPRESSED. GOOD QUALITY KIT. USE ALIGN 600 INSTRUCTIONS TO BUILD AND TAKE YOUR TIME. MINE USES 6S BATTERIES.
After building some of this helis 3 - 4 years before, with much work to do to fix some major problems, this kit was a big surprise. This time it is not for a friend, it was time for my first own HK-600 GT. It is far better packed than ever before, so the main rotor shaft is not bend. The main gears are perfect true-running without any issue. The main rotor is moving a little tight, but this will be fixed after it is re-build with loctite and grease. The tail rotor runs smooth, this should be perfect after re-building it. This time i don`t need an Align main shaft or gear, just the ball links. The ball links coming with my kit are far too tight so i`ll change them. The best thing is, i don`t have to file out the blade holders to make the rotor blades fit, and this is a big improvement against former kits. All ball bearings except for the ones in the push-pull mechanic run smooth, and the push-pull thing will be removed for a direct linkage from the servos to the swashplate. I reporter all the issues i found on earlier kits to Hobbyking, and now they`re fixed. The only issue left is a crack in the canopy from the main chassis, but this is easy to repair before it gets some paint. The slightly bent receiver platform can be corrected with some heat, so not really an issue. Thank you, Hobbyking, for your open ears and the improvements made on this kit! I`m happy with it!
I have the mini titan 450 and a trex 450. and I have a clone trex 500 with a md500 body on it with all hobbyking electrics. so I have now gone for the hk600 and wow grate heli for the price the trex600 parts fit to this heli but only from the first version (v1) now all I need for this hk600 is a nice scale body shell hope hobby king starts selling them for the 500 and 600 sized helis
the kits ok for the price a few small things are wrong with it but if you want quality you have to pay for it i'm still really happy 1/4 of the price of a real trex and you cant complain about that
Well let me tell you this heli is the best deal out there, I mean anywhere !! all the parts are in the box and not broke thanks to great packing by HK.. Shipping started out a little slow and I wasn't happy but HK Support was there for me and got the heli and set of blades to my front door in 12 days !!! Thanks HK Buy this heli you will love it ,I do....
very good for low budged.
some places could be upgraded like
swash plate bearing is getting loose after few hour
swash plate anti rotation mount ball joint is getting loose from vibrations
tail controller brass is causing bearing to burn in extreme settings
but all fot this price is perfect
I really like this heli. I bought two kits so I'd have spare parts but I haven't needed any parts so I've decided to complete the second kit as well. I have about 350-400 flights on it. The only problem was the tail servo failed once, I noticed that when I was control travel checking before take off. The servo would tend to stall, and I replaced it before I flew again.
It's a real hit at the model field. People like watching it zoom around the sky and I really "give it hell" make a good show. Several people have wanted to fly it, but I tell them to bugger off and go buy your own heli and have your own HK600 experience. I think its easy enough to fly as heli's go but this is NOT a beginner heli. You should be a competent 450 builder and flyer before you try this one.
Be careful when your assembling it. Make sure all shafts are properly shimmed, tightened, thrust bearings have grease and you've used lock tight on screw threads.
Last of all, never fly it near people including yourself, always keep a safe distance from it...
