Read this before buying. Doesn't support properly motors with 1,9 mm hole spacing.

Thin plywood; about 1.9-2.0 mm; breaks easily.

Unable to mount KK board (both and x mode are not possible) without drilling holes.

Snug fit on all parts, no sanding as on the larger frame I bought. Empty weight was about 106grams including some glue.

Quite big cap's between the joint so use thick glue. Hard to tell if it's balsa or plywood. Pieces nice cut.

When I considered to build a Quadcopter with low budget I thought that this was the perfect frame for beginners, it is light, it is cheap, and in some way beautiful.
I was wrong.
It is not the right choice for beginners, because when you land with it you have to do it very smoothly, otherwise you will break one leg. It you make a mistake and the quad goes down it is very easy to break the plywood that supports the motor. OK it is less than 8$, but just for the fun of build it, not for the fun of fly it.
I made myself a wood fram for 1,5 Euros (and wood tools) and it flights great, maybe because I learnt what not to do with this frame ;-). My advise, reinforce the legs or spend a bit more to get something more strong.

pretty nice... for $8, but that's about it. It's not crash resistant at all. You crash once and it turns into a pile of splinters. But it's light weight and it looks decent.

The landing feet are just silly, it's better to cut them off and just use foam blocks instead.

Sehr passgenauer Rahmen, leider etwas weiches Holz, was dennoch stabil ist. An fr sich in der Preisklasse unschlagbar.

For $7 it is hard to go wrong but still easy to break. Only using this til my $30 plastic one arrives, hope HK make some plastic ones soon like the DJI450/550 with flame wheel.
