I just received the 2nd mainboard from HK and had the same problem. While plugged in with the power module the red light started blinking and then after connecting the USB cable to the computer, the firmware update process started, the red light just died and the process stopped with an error..

I'm just returning the whole set... very disappointed and very poor quality.

Great value for the price. Purchased this together with the other components. Had it working excellent, for the first time plugged in, carefully following the instructions, with the HK rx tx 900mhz, set on an Eagle Wing FPV, trying to put a test demo unit. This could just be an exception but when I tried linking this to my computer (with supplied USB cable, drivers and SW installed, and the Power module plugged in in the power input of the mainboard), it just popped, heated up and burned (video on Youtube), and just stopped working from then on.. May I recommend Apache (original supplier) step up their QC to insure quality. I've already filed a warranty claim and I'm confident HK will stand behind as in the past... Still a highly recommended OSD product and will buy more.
