The Hobbyking Spitfire is a classic model that has been around for a few years and is a firm favourite with RC Pilots the world over. To begin with, it is a great size, small enough to transport easily, large enough to have presence which it has in spades courtesy of the classic eliptical wing, scale look and superb matt covering.

This model design is nice, so you get an electric motor mount & Lipoly hatch for the EP Pilots and accessories. This model not only includes superb metal retracts with doors, they even operate the correct way and give the model quite an accurate Spitfire stance on the ground.

The flying characteristics of this model are legendary, you will be hard pushed to find a better flying Spit of any size. If you are looking for a model of arguably the most iconic fighter aircraft ever built, this is the one for you!

great plane , delivered damage free assembled easily. 3536 Aerodrive 1400 kv, 40 amp esc 2200 130c Nanotech and a 12/6 prop, flys great tons of speed and vertical. I'll by another when this ones time expires

Great plane, went together well and looks good. I went with HK el retracts but I've made a mess of the underwing by cutting out more than is required. No biggy. Only problem was that I received 4 inch long rudder and elevator servo control rods, when the model requires mid mounted servos and like a 20 inch control rods

This is NOT a glow model, it will shake to bits during the first flight. I put a3542 and a 60 amp esc 4s 2200 lipo, 11x6 elec only prop and the performance is awesome once I ditched the retracts and installed fixed wire LG bent forward of the fwd edge of the wings. Can't say enough about the performance, inverted, knife edges stable rolls.
To all you guys who are complaining about not receiving glow parts HK probably did you a favour! This is a really good model

This one is a little gem. A great looker, flies beautifully, easy to build and just waiting for that super detailing. I put an EF-1 power system on 3S with a 10x6x3 and it absolutely hauls ass.

Nice model, easy assembly, but landing gear area is very fragile, and has a real tendency to nose over on takeoff and landing.

however, the motor mount is really crap. It need to be reenforced with fiberglass before even thinking of flying, or mouting the motor on it. Very very fragile, and to soft. A minimal vibration can crack the wood and delaminate the firewall plywood.

Be careful and balance your propeller and spinner properly.
Also, the manual say CG is 80-90 mm from leading edge. This is totally unrealistic, plane will crash with this CG (search on rcgroup to be sure). CG is more between 70-80mm. Mine is set at 75mm a 'little' nose heavy for some stability.

Finally got mine together and up. using a Tacon 950kv with a 70 amp esc with a 12/6 prop on 4000 4s Nano techs. Don't know what its pulling ,don't care. it flies straight and fast. One of the nicest planes I've flown.

Bought this as a 25 glow model, one look and I REALISED THIS WOULD NOT LAST ONE FLIGHT. The main wing was snapped in half but HK replaced it after 2/3months. Reinforced the engine mount and a hatch catch on the batt hatch. Fitted a tgy 35-42 motor 60 amp esc and 4s 2200 nano batt. Forget the retracts and fit fixed gear modded forward to just under the leading edge. It took 4 11x6 props before I did this otherwise it is difficult to take off or land as it will nose over. Solved the torque on takeoff by increasing right thrust and slowing takeoff speed. The aircraft is brilliant to fly heaps of power, agile and 6-7 mins at 3/4 revs. If you are patient with the build I would recommend this as an intermediate model. fOUR STARS FOR THE MODEL as supplied and 5 for performance. A good buy!!
