Note: I bought the 70amp SS HK speedies to go with each motor.

OK, so first run out I ran each motor on 2 cells (7.4v lipos) for the steering I use a spare traxxas steering servo from a Emaax since it water proof and an old 1/10th car speedie to power the servo & RX.
First thing I learned - the boat dont turn really well until you punch it and get it plainning :-) thought it very cool. After the run however - the lipo packs got thumped! They were pretty hot as were the motors, speedies not so much. Also found alittle water in the back near the booty for the servo rod - grease rod and add some extra CA to the boot where it meets the hull = no more water at all!

Next run I tried running both 2 cells in series to make 4 cells (4S 14.8v) but with in 5mins the packs got so hot one of the wires got too hot and melted the solder. :/

So checked the water flow system and it was all good, then I pulled out both motors and the drive shafts (Not that hard to work out square end to the prop shaft and collar setup to the motor), there was no grease down the flex drive - only where the square end runs in to the prop bolts. The motors felt a little... well the bearings felt a little hard, so I greased up the flex drives and put them back together and used bearing lube on each end of the motors - then put them back in.

Took it for a test with 2 x 5000mah 40~80c 3 cell lipos - one for ea

Programming options in both instructions are wrong. Only menu 1 changes battery type, and menu 3 changes revese function. Can't determin what the other menu options are doing.... Not recommended.

I bought 2 of them for my boat.
First of all, this ESC does work fine out of the box, and it does correspond the default settings described in the manual.

Then, the only option I really needed to change is the battery setting - and programming works just fine despite some negative comments. But yes documentation isn't 100pcnt accurate.

The manual titled SUPPO is not the correct one i.e. option 3 defines reverse not the brakes. So use the other manual. Another point is that I need to move throttle full down to select menu option and then full up to select menu item and then to middle (zero) to exit the menu - at least this how how it works with Turnigy 9x transmitter. I mean the manual says to go full up to enter menu and then to go to middle to select menu item, but with my Tx I have to go full down to select menu item not to middle.

I just wonder if there is a way to disable the brake...

I finally managed to program one of these babies! The main menu options and the sub-menu options are as stated on the documents listed on the Files Tab . However to access and select the various options I did the following:

1. Connect battery, the motors should make a musical tone
2. Switch on TX and push throttle fully up, you should get the musical tone, plus a long bee, the sequence of beeps repeats three times then moves to the next sequence. Theses sequences relate to the main menu options on the instructions.

3.When you reach the parameter you wish to select move the throttle fully down and hold there, the beeps will then change to those shown on the instructions, again cycle through these until you reach the one yuo want, move the throttle fully up and you will then hear a long confirmation beep.

Hope that helps
Regards
TJ
