Just another high wing trainer? We think not. The new HobbyKing® ™ EZ Master and Mini EZ Master are trainers at first glance, but once you fly them you'll see they're everything; trainer, sport plane, aerobat. Moulded of tough EPO foam, a bright graphical colour scheme makes them look good in the air, and durable when they inevitably hit the ground. Both the EZ Master and Mini EZ Master airframes feature tricycle undercarriage with a steerable nose wheel, bolt on wing, and full 4 channel control, including dual aileron servos for great roll response! Open the box and you are greeted with a low parts count, and minimal assembly. Go from the workbench to the flying field in less time than it takes to charge the batteries!

Take-offs are short and sweet due to the powerful brushless outrunner motor, with landings a breeze due to the light wing loading of both models. We have had a blast flying these planes during all of our testing and video shoots. They're stable when you want to relax, but push the throttle forward and slam the sticks into the corners and she wakes up. Inverted flight requires some down elevator due to the flat bottom airfoil, though the mild dihedral angle makes rolls as axial as one would expect from a high wing trainer. Kick in a little rudder at the top of hard climb outs and do crisp stall turns back to the downline.

Both the EZ Master and its little brother, the Mini EZ Master are available in two versions, Plug and Fly (PNF) and Almost Ready to Fly w/ Motor (ARF)

Features:
• Plug and Fly - Just install your choice of transmitter and micro receiver
• Moulded EPO airframe
• Easy access battery hatch
• Rugged aluminum main landing gear and spring steel steerable nose wheel

Well I would give it 5 stars on quality if the wheel axle would fit the base. Somehow someone messed up so I pulled the wheel base and expanded it by drilling. The servos also needed recalibrating. But it flies smooth and makes also great trainer, nice appearance. I love ❤ this plane.

On the first flight I was surprised to find that it was not aerobatic at all. It is under powered. My Phoenix glider does better rolling circles than this. I could hardly fly it inverted. After trying that I wanted to try a large loop. And as I came out of the loop slowly the wings fell off. They came out of the plastic clip in the front which was dreadfully thin. It flew like a very beginner trainer. Not anything aerobatic. If you want a good trainer get the Phoenix 1600. It is much cheaper and solid as a rock. Just be sure to tighten the screws in the motor or it will fall off. If you do get the EZ master be sure not to bump the elevator stick to far or the wings will come flying off. Also when we got it the ESC was fried right out of the box.

Nice but a little bit heavy flyer with some tipstall characteristics available..Stock motor not powerful enough in windy conditions, changed mine to 2200kv and it flies much better with shorter take offs. Also spare parts would be greatly appreciated. Stock them please!!!

This is my 2nd review of this plane. After trying to fly this plane I have found out it is very under powered and not a trainer like it said it is. There are no spare parts for this plane. Anyone buying this plane for a trainer you should offer replacement parts. I had to buy 2 of the planes for spare parts. i am going to try other props to see if I can get it to get off the ground and be able to get some speed out of it. It fly's right at stall speed out of the box. Also going to put a bigger motor in it to see if that will help.
Will update this post later...

This is a nice plane.Parts all fit and it looks good to. Just finish putting it together. It has room to put a flight stabilizer in it so for a 3rd of the cost of a trainer from Horizon you have a great trainer. I am going to use it to teach kids in the neighborhood .

Great beginner plane. Very easy and sturdy assembly. Maiden flight was completed with very little trim required. I am running a 2200mah 3s with plenty of power. The 1800mah 3s gives a little more room in the undercarriage compartment but either will work. While this is a great beginner plane an experienced pilot will also like the fact that it is comfortable performing rolls, inverted flight, outside and inside loops and stalls. Only negative might be spare airframe parts. HK doesn't seem to sell them.

Followup to previous post. Plane is super stable in the air and very forgiving. Can fly amazingly slowly without stalling, no nasty traits at all. Beware though that the forward wing mount is a bit of a weak point, found out the hard way when doing some aerobatics which were probably beyond the planes design and mid flight the wings parted from the fuse. Wings fluttered down gently and fuse speared in from about 100mtrs...not pretty but was able to hot glue all the bits back together . Looks like Frankenstein but still heaps of fun to fly, has become my current favorite. Will load a bit of footage on the video link.
