The JU-87 is one of the most recognizable aircraft of WW2, it made it's name in the early days of the war, spearheading the early campaigns of Blitzkrieg. It was a very effective and accurate dive bomber that was much feared and with it's distinctive Gull wing and screaming dives, the Stuka became a truly iconic aircraft with it's place in history assured as one of the most devastating weapons of it's time. This superb micro Stuka is a tank killer version, complete with 37mm Cannon pods under the wings, surely one of the most amazing looking variants of the JU-87.

The HobbyKing® ™ micro Stuka is made from tough EPO foam which is normally too heavy for micro models, especially ones as superbly detailed as this one, but during development every spare gram of excess weight was shed from the design to keep wing loading low. Being Plug and Fly, assembly is very fast, especially as all servo's, the brushless outrunner motor and the ESC have been pre-installed. Other features worthy of note are the removable 1pc wing and the full four channel control, complete with a steerable tailwheel.

The scale detail on this superb little model is quite outstanding, it is nicely finished and really looks the part, both on the ground and in the air. Despite it's tapered wing, the Stuka is very nicely behaved and looks very convincing in flight, parkfly size warbirds simply don't get better than this amazing looking JU-87!

This plane had a long journey to being flight worthy. She had a warped main wing, which might have been the reason for her ultimate demise. You can trim so the warp is irrelevant - but not at all speeds. Suggest, if theses foamies have a warped flight surface that they be corrected somehow, or returned to sender. Anyway, the stock prop is hard to keep intact, 2s is not enough to power this bird, go with a heavier battery than recommended and hollow out foam to accommodate it. Watch CG to minimise risk of tip stall. Better to have her nose down on glide than dropping a wing. She can take off on smooth grass and land. Nice to look at, but 3 stars for the warp and incorrect power setup. I'm happy she's dead now 'cos I have room for another plane now.

This model is a disaster! Hello, i am an airline pilot who purchased this plane for my little brother first RC. The CG cannot be set without adding weight to the nose. Since the airplane is already underpowered it becomes unflyable. With spins as soon as you try to make a turn ( inboard ailerons). After HK having me produce a video for evidence they simply neglected my case. By the way a servo had a faulty connection right out of the box. I strongly suspect the video on this website where you see it fly to be falsified (more powerful engine). Hope you will not get the same disappointment, by the way the propeller i order on this website are of the worse quality ever. they brake at a touch Cheers and long life to RC's

Fast Shipping from Aus warehouse. Ordered Thursday night, posted Friday, arrived Monday morning. Great detail and value for money. Only a couple of minor issue with kit..
1.The wing retaining screw supplied was about 5mm to short so would not screw in. Sourced one OK from bolt shop. (None that small at Bunnings!)
2. Vertical Stabiliser has slight "banana" but that's what we have trim for I guess.
Build was easy, everything fits so can't wait to get it airborne. If it flies half as good as it looks then we will be on a winner. Good work so HK.

1.Lessons Learned:
-VERY twitchy plane!
-Just like they said in Hobby King website - adjust the throws accordingly
-you will see mine at the 2nd hole
-I have Hi-rates on
-with my radio I would not recommend Lo-rates until it plane is perfectly dialed in
2. Get the CG right before 1st flight! (duh, no brainer)
-It should be at the line right between the main landing gear (see pic)
-Use the heavier 800maH battery
-Otherwise it is nearly impossible to meet CG with 500maH battery!
-I would add weight to the nose BUT this plane does not have enough -power to make up for extra weight
-hence heavier battery instead
2.Easiest Launch
-Hand launch - definitely the easiest
-Just give it full power - not a hi power plane - no risk of torque roll out -of your hand
-UNDERHAND toss - nice and easy - no gorilla grip, just toss it, the Stuka flies straight and true
-Ground Launch
-Very twitchy - rear wheel steers as good as a piece of cheese
-If you do ground launch - go FULL Power again
-get it off the ground as soon as possible
-I only recommend this onZERO wind days!
-Any sidewinds tend to immediately roll it over and slamm it into the ground - you do not have time to react
-Otherwise hand launch straight into wind
4. An 8x6 two bladed prop works very well as replacement
5. Do not fly on high wind days
-you can see in the vids that the plane rolls like crazy
-very sensitiv

I really love this little Stuka! To be fair, I should not have maidened it in the wind, it is a squirrely plane and very twitchy on start - so be ready! Or just hand launch it or wait (yeah right) for really calm weather.
I used the 500mah battery as recommended - and as you can see it had no problem taking off in the first 5 feet! I jammed the battery as far foward in the slot as possible, and with the turnigy keychain camera on the canopy it didn't seem to affect the CG much. CG is about 5mm forward of the wheels' mounting point. I'm going to put the 800mah battery in next- I think the weight will do it good as it seems a little tail heavy even with the battery as far fwd as possible. I would have given this product 5 stars all around but it was unfortunately delivered with a broken rudder and HK is being reeeeaaaaal slow about getting me a replacement. It seems there is a difference in service between the international and the european wharehouse - never had a problem with the international wharehouse! Also the fuselage seems are sloppy and the elevator was banana'd. See vid below:

Why why why HK did you have to get down to absolute bare bones with the performance of this aircraft. Those that have managed a flight are having to repower and /or strip them down further.
Surely the signs were there when you had to take led lights off for performance.??? I've given up trying to fly it.

Other than this disappointment I've been very happy with all of my other purchases. Thank you for making RC an affordable hobby.

Ordered Monday morning from the uk warehouse and received next day, fantastic service, well packaged and plane arrived in perfect condition. For 50.00 this is a really nice plane, very well finished for a foam model with some nice detailing. Complete with motor, esc and servos, bargain! The only very very small negative is the 2d cardboard pilot, he will have to go.

Very fast delivery from Australian warehouse, well packaged but sadly rudder had broken off, not during delivery as box had no damgae to it. Push rod and servo pulled hard right and had broken off through hinge. Easlily repaired just annoying. Waiting for better Bathurst weather to test flight. Great looking model, very well detailed!!

Will review again after maiden flight... Tally Ho!
