The HobbyKing® ™ Windragon is great fun for both new and experienced pilots, it is tough and simple yet brilliantly thought out, the Windragon even comes with 2 wings, one with hi-dihedral wingtips & no ailerons which offers super stable, high lift, self correcting tendencies allowing the new RC pilot to master basic three channel control with an easy to fly, fun model. Once confident and ready to move on to full four channel control, it takes seconds to change to the sport wing, which features ailerons and a more sporty airfoil, a brilliant step system to mastering RC flight!

The fuselage is blow molded nylon, with EPO wings and tail-feathers, making the Windragon resistant to all but the very worse crashes. Assembly could not be simpler, the Brushless outrunner motor, ESC and all servo's are pre-installed, the tail plane simply screws on, the undercarriage is plug in and the wing is secured by crash resistant rubber bands, the Windragon can be assembled in double quick time!

There is no doubt, for a pod 'n' boom model, the Windragon looks great, designed primarily as a purpose built trainer, it is easy, cheap and simple to assemble and fly. It looks good yet is as tough as old boots, the Windragon is a huge amount of fun, regardless of your flying experience and it won't break the bank!

Great little plane. Carefully remove the 30 gram weight from the nose then with some careful trimming, you can fit a 1300 2 cell lipo.

I am also going to fit a HK micro APM 2.7. Interestingly, when the pilot moulding is removed, it weighs 3 gram which is only 3 grams less than the autopilot board ( not including the cables and accessories). The catch on the canopy did not work very well anyway.

Review for using the sport wing.

Anyone know where is the CG located? I'll need to put the batt infront only then I can get 25pcnt from LE.

Flown, nice to fly but seems a bit low in power, take off run can take awhile, 30-40m ... not sure why with plane of such size, perhaps the motor is not in good condition, hence with no power it cant turn smoothly.

Use it for my beginner friend, bit hard for him to take off hence the tendency to stall. I have take out the ballast to make it lighter n shift the batt forward, a 1000mAh. CG at 30pcnt LE, so not sure if its actually in the right location.

AWESOME plane to learn with easy as i went straight in to the sport wing which i think makes it easier to fly with ailerons as long as you get your rates right more rudder than aileron just a pitty hobby king do not not carry spare parts for this plane as being for beginners you will need to replace some parts .

This plane is perfect for a beginner like me, it is my second plane. Came with no instructions, but you won't need it because it was very easy to assembly. I don't use the aileron-less wing. I use expo 45 percent on aileron and elevator 20 percent. It flies straight in little wind, but can fight strong wind too. In the club field while the experienced ones afraid to fly because of strong wind, I flew it without so much trouble, and I am a beginner. It have crashed multiple times, but it still can fly again in the next couple of minutes. With 2S 800 mAh and 60-75 percent throttle it can stay up in the air for about 10-11 minutes perhaps more. On a grass field better to detach the landing gear or replace the wheels with bigger ones.

hi all i have 2 off these planes they are very strong as i have crashed 4 times with one other one still in the box. last crash was flat stick into the ground and all it done was flatten the nose how ever i do highly recommend duel rates if you are a beginner also taping all hinges so they are stronger over all 10/10 very good beginner plane i now have a kinetic 810.

Just got back from flying this plane for an hour, must say that is is the best trainer plane I've ever flown but here are some very important precautions you have to take
1. With the aerobatic wing you MUST fly with a light battery due to the decreased wind dihedral and thickness. I recommend a battery that's no more than 500mah. On the 3ch wing I am using an 850mah battery with no problems at all.
2. Use 4 rubber bands on wing instead of 2 that's shown in the picture. The other 2 bands should be crisscrossing like an X across the wing.
3. For those of you in higher altitudes I suggest upgrading to a 3s setup. The 2s setup will be severely under powered.

Again it is THE best trainer plane I've ever flown. Requires no trim as long as the wing is centered properly. The plane also comes in plain white so if you're looking to customize the paint job this the perfect plane for you

Very easy to fly, but unscrew and fasten everything well before the first flight. Especially the vertical tail wing.

It is a very durable plan. After purchasing it, you need to replace the propeller with a higher pitch one and make the battery hatch easier to lock. Good fly characteristics even in a windy day.
