Looking for the perfect trainer? or an in-expensive FPV platform? Maybe you are a club pilot looking for something you can just pull out of the car and fly on one of those lazy Sunday afternoons? The HobbyKing® ™ Bixler® ™ ticks all of these boxes and more! A proven platform for beginners through to intermediate pilots!
The Bixler® ™ has all the right ingredients, made from super tough EPO foam, some servos are pre-installed, supplied motor requires installation, fuselage halves need joining so minimal assembly time is required, in fact, an evenings work and it should be ready to fly!
Allow us to introduce the Bixler® ™ V1.1 with a myriad of improvements over the original Bixler® ™.
Our v1.1 features relocated elevator and rudder servos, now closer to the tail and accessible via a magnetic hatch on the underside of the fuselage. Why? you may ask - This allows much more usable space inside the front section of the fuselage, something that FPV'ers are going to thank us for! We have also updated the included hardware to include better quality components, such as the new 4 bolt control horns on all surfaces. We also include 2 different propellers, one for high speed and the other for carrying heavier payloads.
You - our customers spoke, we listened! The end result is the Bixler® ™ V1.1!
Whatever you are looking for, the Bixler® ™ has it covered, also included is a color instruction booklet.

During the assembly, I lenghten the cables from the motor. To find the holes from the wings was a little bit difficult. I glued the fuselage with 5min Epoxy. I saw, that the 5min Epoxy did´nt had a good liability at every area. It is important to use the right glue. Because of the longer cables at the motor, i had a chance to change the ESC controller from 20A to 30A, because the 20A ESC got a little bit hot during the first flight.
The flight characteristics are very good during fast or slow flights. One time i made a ground start in low grass. The plane make a lot of fun and i think you can´t buy a better plane for this price. One of my favorite and best glider. Best for learning to fly and recommended also for FPV flying. Very durable indeed. You can view in youtube how i fly this baby
https://youtu.be/oRjn0ion9QsMy main concern was about shipping damages that plane could suffer during its trip from Global Warehouse to my location in Argentina.
However I have to say the packaging is very good actually, and the plane arrived in perfect shape. Some small items I ordered separately were set into the Bixler box, and all together into a stronger, much stronger, cardboard box. Everything is in perfect condition and I am very happy with my first time ordering a complete plane.
Regarding this Bixler ARF kit, quality of parts is very good. It comes with a two parts fuselage, a two parts wing, a carbon fibre wing reinforcement, the tail group, a pilot figure, transparent plastic for a canopy, four installed servos and their pushrods, two different propellers with a collet type adapter, one motor and other smaller stuff.
Only need to add foam-safe glue, an ESC-BEC and a Radio System.
I do like this plane. The canopy floor was a poor fit. Installed my own magnets. Had to figure out how to add a battery retainer. I read reviews about assembling the wings. Using glue not a good idea - makes the plane un-repairable. I tapered the nose of the screws with a file. A little wiggle and success. After my first crash, the canopy is now held on with a rubber band. A little glue and tape on the wing and fuselage and back in the air!
You will crash the plane so figuring out how to fix it is part of the fun. Experienced club members are the best resource. The manual was sad. The CG was the only item I needed. I soldered extensions to the motor leads to make assembly easier.Assembling the wings, a big mess...This kit was nothing like an almost ready to fly (ARF) kit, the fuse was in 2 halves with only the rudder and elevator servo's and links fitted. No glue was supplied and only half the screws for the horns were included. For the price I had to pay AU $135.45 its not a good deal.there are plenty of other sites for rc gear on ebay and a lot of it offers free shippjng,so go look guys. Please, HK! Hire a manual-writer who has, once in his life, spoken to an English-speaking person! The "manual" starts half-way through the build, is very difficult to interpret, and leaves out about half of the necessary steps, leaving the builder to figure out what to do, in what order, on his own. And those two wing-screws! I DEFY you to thread those through the tight wooden washers, through two wings and down into a tee-nut that is buried in the foam of the fuselage. Not humanly possible! Everyone I talked to who has this plane admits that they either gave up after getting one screw in place, or gave up entirely and glued the wings on. Nice finish, though. Too bad you won't publish this review.Bester Bixler aller Zeiten.Great product, ready to fly in no time.
Perfect for first time flyers and FPV lovers!
If you crash a little bit of CA and you are back in the air!
