Overall I'm very please with this unit. I was going to recommend it to a friend but it appears this item may no longer be available. But mine works quite well. One of the few things coming out of China that lives up to it's description. Now I haven't tried to charge anything greater than 1C but I have two 4S 5500 mah batteries I can charge at 5.5 Amps each and it runs like a charm. Pulls about 83 Watts on each channel. Shows the cell balance all along the way. The graph is greater. I really love to see the amps climb at the beginning of the charge. It starts out slow for just a second or two and then sky rockets up to 5.5 amps. Plus how many mah you put back into the battery. One thing though, you need to watch those balanced adapters as they tend to come loose. I've had it thrown some pretty severe error messages when it was due to the balance lead coming out partially from the charger body. Push it back in and it works great. So watch for that. But other than that one issue, I really like this charger.

Super

Absolutely loving it! Some people complain HK advertise discharge rate at max 3 Amps, but it actually discharge at 0.7 or so. It doesn't bother me because I actually never discharge my batteries. If I can't fly them all, I try my best to discharge them flying on the next day.

The touch screen is very precise and sensitive. The stylus pen comes loose, so I added a small elastic to hold it, avoiding loosing it. It matches very well with the Hobby King power supply 540 watts. Overall, fantastic product and it is 100pcnt recommended!

Very basic charger. I mean the software is cute but very basic. No way to set the maximum voltages for cell, no extras. I can't find any signs of software update... I expected more mature product. Nice toy but my requirements are much higher.

Fan is noisy, still working even for low current charging!

Hi guys!
Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Hungary

I've bought an IMAX X400 charger from HK in last order, which has arrived.
My charger produces error when charge 2S Lipo batteries.
I have tried with different capacity batteries, but same results...
Tried with: HK hardcase 2S lipos, HK A-SPEC shorty lipos, ORCA & SMC competition packs, Zeppin saddle race packs, same error...
After 5-10 secs shows "OUT VOLTAGE IS TOO HIGH CH:1". But this message is not real, because each cells under 4.00 Volts, total is under 8V
The total voltage on charger run up to 8.7V, the charger beeps, and stop. But each cells voltage shows under 4V.
I have tried on port I and II, same results.
I measured with digital multimeter. Cell each voltages are correct on the charger display. Only total voltage runs too high, but not on multimeter (that sows normal value), only on charger.
It seems the brand new charger defective!!!!

I searched on internet, I found this issue with other IMAX professional charger.
This video below shows same problem of mine (on video this is an X350, but the user interface exactly similar):

What can I do now?

This charger is easy to use, has enough power for bigger lipo's.
When loading the batteries you have all the parameters in the view.
the only weak point is the too short cable.
the IMAX X400 is highly recommended plus inexpensive.
